Electric Vehicles Are Becoming More Popular In US - Report
Influential American magazine Consumer Reports stated on Tuesday that electrified cars, including hybrids and fully electric models, are becoming more appealing than their gasoline-powered counterparts. It also added seven of these cars to its list of the top ten cars for 2024.
Four of Toyota's 7203.T electrified cars including the Prius and a hybrid variant of its well-liked Camry sedan made the list. The Ford F.N. Maverick Hybrid pickup truck, the BMWG.DE X5 PHEV, and Tesla's TSLA.O Model Y were also included in the list.

According to the magazine, electrified cars are growing in popularity after making up 16.3% of all light-duty vehicle sales in the US the previous year. Sales of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), which fill the gap between a regular hybrid and an EV, increased by 60% in the previous year.
The 2024 brand report card from Consumer Reports, which evaluated 34 brands based on their overall scores, showed that European automaker BMW remained at the top.
The road test results from CR, the expected reliability, owner satisfaction information, and safety for each tested model are combined to create the final score.
General Motors GM.N was the top-ranked domestic auto brand in the United States, followed by Buick at number thirteen, Ford at number seventeen, and Tesla at number eighteen.
The only two American brands included in the report's bottom five were Rivian RIVN.O and GMC.
