19 Illegally Modified Bikes Seized In "Ops Samseng", De-Modded" To Be Claimed Back
A sting operation code named ‘Ops Samseng’ was carried out by the Ampang Jaya Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPT) by 9 officers on Sunday 18 Dec during the hours of 1am to 6am.
The operation was intended to apprehend road users who do not comply with traffic rules, especially motorcyclists who performed illegal modifications to their vehicle structure and modification of the exhaust system.
From the operation, a total of 92 summons were issued for various traffic offences such as not having a driving license, expired road tax, vehicle structure modification and exhaust modification. A total of 19 vehicles were confiscated under Sec 64 (1) and Sec 6 (4) APJ 1987 and brought back to the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement station.
The same police division also posted images of the 19 vehicles being returned back to the state it was intended to be in the next day on Monday 19 December. From the images we are able to see the vehicle owners removing all the parts deemed illegal and refitting back the parts that actually were supplied by the manufacturers.
