Grab Tuk-Tuks Ready To Roll In Phuket After Being Granted Ride-Hailing Licence

After being awarded a ride-hailing licence by the Department of Land Transport in September, Grab is launching a tuk-tuk service in Phuket.
The "GrabTukTuk" service in Phuket will be ready to welcome back foreign tourists and help local employment growth, according to the firm.
It plans to launch the new service with 100 tuk-tuk driver partners by early 2023.
Grab says the Phuket launch is part of its ongoing mobility service expansion.
Worachat Luxkanalode, Grab Thailand's Country Head, stated, "We have observed constant good signs from the tourism industry's resurgence. Thailand has had almost 10 million international visitors since the beginning of this year.
Foreign tourists favour ride-hailing apps over other modes of transportation because they provide convenience and safety standards.
Through revenue prospects for local people, Grab's mobility service can benefit not only Phuket's tourism sector but also the province's general economy."
"As a leading platform, Grab is dedicated to increasing the bar for ride-hailing service in Phuket in terms of service quality, affordable pricing, and safety." We encourage locals to use their personal automobiles to provide transportation services in order to supplement their income.
"In addition, we've encouraged those who provide public transportation services, such as Tuk Tuk drivers, to use the Grab app as another channel for reaching passengers and improving income potential," Worachat added.
Furthermore, Grab Thailand has worked with government agencies and partners to guarantee effective planning and to instil trust in Grab driver-partners and public transit companies in Phuket.
These initiatives represent the goal of raising service standards in response to the country's reopening policy and Phuket's measures to welcome visitors and drive economic recovery.
