EVC Deploys Mobile Kempower 22kWh DC Charger - Petronas Gambang East Bound

The Petronas Gambang Eastbound R&R 180kWh (90kWh x 2) DC Chargers is now offline starting 8 Mar till 19 Apr 2023. The 42 days DC Charging station closure by EV Connection (EVC), the operator of the charging facility is to facilitate roof construction works for the future convenience of its users.

Although this closure is to further improve the service level rendered to the public, there has been quite a number of feedback from EV users as this facility is one of the only DC EV charging solutions for many to plan a safe trip east bound with range anxiety in mind.

There is still the much slower 11kWh AC Charger still operational at the Gambang Petronas Station. However to better mitigate the matter EVC has installed a temporary single output CCS2 Kempower Mobile 22kWH DC Charger that would help ease EV users' worries.

Users would be able to access this EVC Kempower DC mobile charger using their existing SETEL App and are expected to pay RM0.50 per minute to charge.

With the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri just days away from the projected completion day of the roofing works on the permanent DC Charging facility lets hope there are no hiccups that would further delay its reactivation. However, this mobile DC Charging solution would be a good additional charging source for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri travellers, perfect in cutting down waiting time as more EV’s are bound to travel east bound.
