JomCharge Introduces New Elite Plan at RM9.90/Month

JomCharge has just introduced its new JomCharge Elite membership plan, giving EV users in Malaysia a simple way to save on charging costs. The plan is priced at RM9.90 per month, but for a limited time, the first month is absolutely free.
By subscribing, users can enjoy a 10% discount on more than 1,000 chargers within the JomCharge network. These discounts apply only to chargers directly operated by EV Connection and not to roaming partners like ChargEV and DC Handal.

To activate the plan, users just need to launch the JomCharge app and tap on the JomCharge Elite pop-up banner. The membership option should appear right away. By default, the subscription will auto-renew each month, but you can turn this off in the app up to three days before the renewal date.
To make it easier to find participating chargers, use the map filter in the app and tap the “ELITE” icon. This will show only the chargers that offer the 10% discount.

The savings vary depending on the charger. For AC charging, a typical RM0.90/kWh charger drops to RM0.81/kWh. DC fast chargers offer even more noticeable savings. Stations normally priced at RM1.50/kWh drop to RM1.35/kWh.
In real terms, if you’re consuming 40kWh at RM1.50/kWh, that’s normally RM60 per session. With the Elite membership, it comes down to RM54. That’s a saving of RM6.00 in just one session. Two long charging sessions a month could already cover the RM9.90 fee.

To subscribe, you need to have a valid credit or debit card linked in the app. If you don’t add a card, you won’t be able to complete the sign-up, even though the first month is free.
The membership is non-transferable and only applies to one account. After the plan expires, users can still continue using JomCharge on a normal pay-per-use basis.

So, is it worth subscribing? For light EV users who mostly charge at home, maybe not. But if you’re a regular commuter or don’t have access to home charging, the savings can add up quickly.
With the first month being free, there’s little to lose by giving it a try. If it doesn’t suit your usage, just cancel before the next billing cycle.
