New MINI EV Charger Opens In Kota Kemuning

Leading BMW and MINI dealers Wheelcorp Premium has set up a new MINI electric vehicle (EV) charger located at Sanctuary Mall @ Eco Sanctuary, Kota Kemuning. The new chargers, which features both a 50 kW DC rapid charger with dual holders plus a 22 kW AC charger, are powered by partners JomCharge.

Said chargers occupy two parking lots within Sanctuary Mall and are now open to the public. As for charging rates, users will be subjected to JomCharge’s standard rate of RM1.20 per minute of use.

Representatives from both Wheelcorp Premium and Eco Sanctuary officially opening their new MINI EV charger.

“The positive reception for Electrified Mobility in recent times, bolstered by the many initiatives by our local government, has been a welcome sight for us; and we are committed to developing the EV landscape further for our customers, alongside BMW Group Malaysia,” said Jayden Liew, MD of Wheelcorp Premium upon officially opening the new charging facility earlier this week.

“By supporting Wheelcorp Premium’s drive to roll out more charging facilities, we are also making good progress on our own ESG goals, which is to ensure that all EcoWorld projects have at least one EV charging station,” added Max Leong Yew Mun, Assistant GM at Eco Sanctuary.

Wheelcorp Premium further notes that this latest MINI-branded EV charging station is part of BMW Group Malaysia’s on-going strategy towards developing the required infrastructure for EV charging. Together with local partners, dealers, and key charging providers, the Malaysian arm of the Bavarian premium automotive marque have readied over 670 charging facilities nationwide.

Of which, over 360 are accessible through partnerships with ChargEV and Yinson Greentech too. BMW Group Malaysia further notes that its partnership with JomCharge alone has enabled access to over 70 facilities, where as its other partnership with Gentari has granted access to approximately 150 facilities.

Additionally, over 100 BMW i and MINI EV charging facilities are available and accessible via most authorised dealerships – Wheelcorp Premium included. These are also available at partnering venues nationwide, with more to come as part of BMW Group Malaysia’s expansion plans set for the year ahead.
