Next-Gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class Teased Ahead of Its Debut

Mercedes-Benz has posted a lone teaser image, featuring the side profile of what appears to be the next-gen E-Class model. The automaker is set to unveil their flagship mid-size sedan later this month.

Just like any other teaser images, nothing much can be derived from this shadow-draped image, except for the conventional sedan roofline this new E-Class model will sport. Apart from that, Mercedes-Benz has remained tight-lipped about the exact styling cues this new model will carry, but we expect it will match the marque’s current models, such as the latest W206-gen C-Class.

The German automaker, however, has revealed several details about the next-gen E-Class cabin, where it will get the next-gen MBUX Superscreen infotainment system. Already being used in the all-electric EQE, this new infotainment system will come with no less than three screens – one for the driver’s display, one for the central infotainment display, and one additional passenger display.

Aside from the MBUX Superscreen, the next-gen E-Class also reportedly will come with the standard current-gen MBUX infotainment layout, featuring a portrait-oriented central infotainment display and widescreen driver’s instrument cluster – just like the one featured in the current-gen C-Class.
Both the new layout delete the old centre console-mounted infotainment control pad, leaving more free space at the central console to fit an enclosed item compartment.

W206 Mercedes-Benz C200's Turbo Engine with Mild Hybrid System
The biggest news about the upcoming E-Class is the powertrain option, where Mercedes-Benz unveiled that they will be electrified in some form. The automaker insisted on keeping its ICE line-up partially electrified as part of its plan to reduce the carbon footprint and improve efficiency of its models.
For comparison, most of the new ICE-powered Mercedes-Benz models now feature a mild-hybrid (MHEV) system as a minimum, while also coming in a dedicated plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant. Hence, we can also expect the W214-gen E-Class will follow this electrified trend, just like the rest of its siblings.

W213-gen Mercedes-AMG E 63 S Sedan & Wagon
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class W214 will make its debut later in Apr 25 this year, where it will come in both sedan and estate models, with the latter featuring a high-riding all-terrain body style, instead of the normal wagon style like the previous models. As for the AMG version, we might have to wait later this year for it to launch.
