Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 Driven By Paul Walker Heading To Auction

One of the cars that starred in the famed Fast & Furious movie franchise is heading up for auction soon, and we’re certain it will be highly coveted amongst bidders. That’s because the car in question is a Bayside Blue 2000 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 used on-screen and driven by the late Paul Walker.

This particular GT-R was featured as one of the ‘hero cars’ in the franchise’s fourth instalment, Fast & Furious, released in 2009. It stands as the most visually-appealing and complete example as it was used for primary filming with the late Walker at the wheel as titular character ‘Brian O’Connor’.

In other words, this isn’t one of the stunt cars used in the film, which were mostly replicas built using the lesser Nissan Skyline GT-T – not GT-R. In fact, this R34 GT-R was specially built and specced (read: tuned) by Kaizo Industries in accordance to the late actor’s specifications.

Initially sourced as an engine-less body, Kaizo Industries managed to source and fit a correct RB26DETT in-line 6-cyl mill. Next came a bevy of upgrades that included a front-mounted intercooler, lowered Nismo springs, roll cage, Volk Racing wheels, upgraded brakes, rear seat delete, custom head-up display, new hood, upgraded exhaust, and more. Auction house Bonhams says that these upgrades sees this GT-R delivering 550 HP as a result.

After completing its filming duties, this GT-R was exported to Germany in 2012, where it has remained since. Though not registered for road use in Europe, it did stand as an exhibit at the Munich Motorworld museum instead.

Bonhams has not listed a price estimate, but cars that have appeared in the Fast & Furious franchise often go for big money, more so when they’re hero cars like this Skyline GT-R R34. Adding to which is the added provenance and association with Walker it boasts.

In other words, like the classic 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 owned by Walker that sold at auction last year, we can likely expect this Skyline GT-R R34 to fetch a hefty six-figure sale price too.
