Ford Ranger Raptor 2.0 Bi-Turbo Diesel Teased, Launches In June

Ford Ranger Raptor 2.0 Bi-Turbo Diesel teaser by SDAC.
Due to popular demand, the Ford Ranger Raptor 2.0 Bi-Turbo Diesel variant will soon make landfall and offered officially by distributors Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC). In a press release issued earlier today, the firm confirmed that said variant of the Ranger Raptor will launch next month as well.
“Many Malaysians have been asking for different drivetrains. We are responding by adding the formidable, tried and tested 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel engine variant to offer another ownership option for Raptor lovers and other high-speed off-roading enthusiasts,” said Turse Zuhair, Managing Director of SDAC-Ford.

Latest-gen Ford Ranger Raptor.
Presently, the latest-gen Ford Ranger Raptor is offered exclusively with a 3.0-liter bi-turbo V6 petrol powerplant that delivers punchy outputs of 392 HP and 583 NM. The addition of this new and diesel-powered variant to – presumably – slot below said main V6 variant sees the Raptor performance guise become a little more accessible to more consumers.
This smaller-displacement, oil-burning lump powering this variant is identical to that found in both the XLT Plus and Wildtrak variants. Said package produces 207 HP and 500 NM, which matched the outputs of the previous-generation Ford Ranger Raptor. Managing them too is Ford’s latest 10-speed automatic box and full-blown 4x4 driveline which, again, are the same primed in the XLT Plus and Wildtrak.
Powertrain aside, the new Ford Ranger Raptor 2.0 Bi-Turbo Diesel variant should see its chassis specifications mirror the V6 twin it slots below and feature the same Fox adaptive suspension with 2.5-inch Live Valve internal bypass dampers.

Expect the Fox adaptive suspension with 2.5-inch Live Valve internal bypass dampers to remain in this new
2.0 Bi-Turbo Diesel variant too.
Those interested in getting a closer look at the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel, are welcome to attend its official launch event, says SDAC. Said launch takes place from June 9 to 11 at MRANTI Open Space, West Entrance (formerly known as Technology Park Malaysia),opposite Pavilion Bukit Jalil.
Additionally, the first 300 bookings will benefit with the installation of a Kenwood dashcam system that records using a quad-HD front camera and full HD rear camera. These earlybird customers also get a one-off RM500 discount for the Ford Ranger Getaways series of drive events too.
As for price, SDAC hasn’t given us any indications just yet. However, expect the new Ford Ranger Raptor 2.0 Bi-Turbo Diesel variant to command a figure that sits between the range-topping Wildtrak variant’s RM152,388 and the V6-powered Ranger Raptor variant’s RM259,888 figures.
