All-Female Driver Team Completes Peninsular Malaysia Journey with Porsche Taycan

The driving adventure, organised by Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) embarked on a 12-hour drive from Johor Bahru to Penang. The luxury German carmaker enlisted women such as race driver Leona Chin, fashion designer Celest Thoi, restaurateur Jen Tang, jewellery designer Yinn Ooi, and content creator Beng Lim.

Brimming with whirring energy, the journey took them across the peninsular's North-South Expressway (PLUS), parallel trunk roads and seven states. The Taycan was the ideal vehicle for the job, especially after the 2022 software updates, which increased range by intelligently decoupling the front electric motor. After leaving Johor, the group drove along the long, straight roads of the North-South Expressway's initial stretch.

While enjoying the Taycan's smooth ride, the group listened to their favourite road trip playlists via the Porsche Communication Management system, which seamlessly integrates Apple Music and Spotify.
The trip began with a stop at Shell Recharge Pagoh. The group got their first taste of the Porsche-Shell High Performance Charging (HPC) network, which features charging stations strategically placed along Malaysia's North-South Motorway and beyond into Singapore and Thailand.

The Taycan is the first production vehicle with a system voltage of 800 volts rather than the standard 400 volts for electric vehicles, allowing it to charge from 5 to 80 percent SoC (State of Charge) in just 22.5 minutes under ideal conditions. More than 100km of range can be easily obtained in just 10 minutes at a fast charger. The group's journey took them through the Titiwangsa mountain range.
The Porsche Connect app and Apple CarPlay led the group on pre-planned routes.
While the Taycans had more than enough range to continue the journey, the group resumed their journey to Melaka. The Taycans made their way through traffic to Jonker Street via Ayer Keroh while navigating through the narrow Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock with elusive parking spaces in front of Casa Del Rio Melaka. It was soon time to leave Melaka with a quick stop at Shell Seremban before passing by Kuala Lumpur all the way up to Perak in the north. The group travelled through Negeri Sembilan to Kuala Lumpur to enjoy views of the Twin Towers and other skyscrapers from the panoramic roof. The cars made their final charging stop at Shell Simpang Pulai after passing by the famous Ipoh signage on the highway. The journey came to an end when both Taycans crossed the iconic Penang Bridge under the night sky, with the Andaman Sea shimmering beneath the bridge's lights.

The Taycan Turbo S and Cross Turismo are already well-known for their prowess, prestige, and exclusivity. These two cars, designed for everyday use and long highway drives, have captured the attention of many people, particularly women. The car has a striking front face that demonstrates how well both play and work blend with this stunning machine. Depending on the driver and the driving conditions, the Taycan's highway range ranges from 370 to 512 km. Of course, strictly city driving raises that to 630 km. The Taycan Cross Turismo, on the other hand, has a range of 389 - 490 km and can travel up to 616 km if kept within city limits.
With the Porsche Taycan's intuitive control, infotainment, and functions, owners will have the most comfortable driving experience. Furthermore, the expressive exterior design and sophisticated interior atmosphere are the icing on the cake.
