PHSAM And VPCM Appoints Denyu Bostandzhiev As Its New Co-MD

PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM) and Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia Malaysia (VPCM) announced earlier today that it appointed Denyu Bostandzhiev as its new Co-Managing Director effective July 1, 2023. He succeeds Erik Winter who moves on with his new role as Managing Director of PHS in Chile.
Bostandzhiev will lead Sales, Aftersales and Network Development, Marketing, and IT for both companies (PHSAM and VPCM) where he folds in his expertise in business strategy and operations, product development and branding to raise the profile and strengthen the Audi and Volkswagen brands in Malaysia.
Bostandzhiev previously play key roles at securing the local assembly (CKD) operations for the Arteon and Tiguan Allspace models (top left and right), as well as the Golf GTI (above).
Also, Bostandzhiev will jointly serve this position alongside Kurt Leitner, the latter continuing to helm the HR and Finance operations for both VPCM and PHSAM. No stranger to Malaysia, Bostandzhiev was previously assigned in 2016 for two and a half years at VPCM.
During said time, Bostandzhiev played a role in securing local assembly (CKD) operations for models likes the Volkswagen Arteon, Tiguan Allspace, and Golf GTI – a historical milestone for VPCM as the Golf GTI, recently updated with IQ.Drive, was only previously assembled in Germany and China.
Denyu Bonstandzhiev (second from left) with predecessor Erik Winter (fourth from right) and fellow Co-MD Kurt Leitner (third from right) at the Audi Q8 e-tron and e-tron GT quattro launches earlier this month.
“I am enthusiastic about returning to Malaysia to offer a premium experience for customers in which Audi and Volkswagen prides itself in. I believe that both the brand core values of digitalisation, design and sustainability - evident in the strong line-up of progressive premium and affordable premium products, will continue to captivate the local market,” said Bonstanzhiev enthusiastically.
