Audi A6 & A7 Get Mild Design Tweaks & New Equipment in Europe

Unlike its fellow rivals, Audi is still working on its next-gen midsize sedan/wagon contender. Until then, the firm has decided to give a mid-life refresh for the current-gen Audi A6 and A7, in a bid to make it relevant against newer segment rivals like the newly-debuted G60 BMW 5 Series and W214 Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

For the 2024 model year (2024MY), the European-bound A6 and A7 will get mild design tweaks, in the form of Audi’s signature full-LED headlight technology, as well as the new Singleframe front grille design that comes with different finish depending on the design package. On that topic, the 2024MY A6 will be offered with three exterior design packages, namely basic, advance, and S line. Meanwhile, the A7 will only be offered with either the basic or the S line packages.

Aside from the new grille, said design packages also include different wheel options. For starters, the baseline A6 now rides on 17-inch forged alloy wheels, while the largest wheel options offered are 21-inch ones, featuring a unique five-spoke design that is designed to cool off the brakes. Meanwhile, the A7 gets bigger 20-inch and 21-inch wheel options, on top of the standard 18-inch and 19-inch ones.

Both models are also granted with new paint options, namely the Arcona White and Madeira Brown Metallic, while the S line package variants get special Grenadine Red and Ascari Blue. As for the interior, customers are offered with eight different variants of decorative inlays to choose from, including Olive Tree Natural and Volcanic Grey Natural inlays plus some Dinamica microfiber.
The S-line package is getting the sportiest bit in the form of black-hued front dash with a combination of “Sequenz” fabric and leather upholstery for the A6, while the A7 gets a combination of “Frequenz” microfiber and leather. You can also find contrasting stitching on the cars’ steering wheel and other parts of the interior that contrast against the black backdrop.
On-board equipment has also been upgraded as both cars are now equipped with a new 12.3-inch full-HD digital instrument cluster. Said display now can be controlled by steering wheel-mounted control and buttons, where drivers can select from many choices of display layouts. Aside from that, a new and updated parking assist function has also been added, for good measure.

This midlife refresh applies on both the A6 sedan and wagon, as well as the Audi A7 Sportback, where all models will be on sale beginning from June 1 onwards in selected European markets. Pricing starts at €53,800 (RM264,111) for the A6, and at €63,500 (RM311,730) for the sportier A7.
As we mentioned earlier, Audi is in the midst of developing the successors of both the A6 and A7. This new model however, will adopt the A7 moniker as Audi recently reshuffled its naming strategy, now reserving even-numbered models for their all-electric models.
