Koenigsegg Gemera Will Get A 2,269-HP V8 Hybrid Powertrain
Renowned Swedish automaker Koenigsegg has unveiled the final production specs for its upcoming four-seater hypercar, the Koenigsegg Gemera. While its concept twin boasts a 1,700 HP-rated powertrain, it turns out that the production Gemera will get a peppier variant, featuring a roaring V8 at its heart.

Koenigsegg Gemera is a four-seater car with a mid-engined hypercar guise
For starters, the ‘baseline’ variant of the Gemera will employ the same 2.0-litre 3-cyl twin-turbocharged mill used on the concept model, rated at 600 HP by itself. Known as the Tiny Friendly Giant (TFG), this three-pot mill is mated to a new electric motor developed entirely by the marque.

The Gemera comes with the new 'Dark Matter' radial and axial electric motor
Dubbed as the ‘Dark Matter’, this new electric motor is a combination of both the radial and axial electric motors. Weighing only 39 KG, the Dark Matter motor is capable of delivering up to 789 HP on its own. Combined with the TFG three-pot mill, the ‘baseline’ Gemera will boast a whopping total system output of 1,381 HP and 1,849 NM.
As for the battery, the Dark Matter motor is juiced by a 14-kWh battery pack that is placed beneath the front seats, leaving some room for its 200-litre cargo space.

Koenigsegg’s proprietary Light Speed Transmission (LST)
Aside from the powertrain upgrades, the production-spec Gemera also gets Koenigsegg’s proprietary Light Speed Transmission (LST), which is derived from its flagship hypercar model, the Jesko. Featuring no flywheel, this innovative transmission unit is renamed as Light Speed Tourbillon Transmission (LSTT) for the Gemera. While the production model’s power output is less compared to the concept, Koenigsegg assures that the LSTT will make the three-pot Gemera drives better and more engaging.
“We could not resist exploring the possibility of incorporating these remarkable features and benefits into the Gemera production model, leading us down an exciting new development path - the Light Speed Tourbillon Transmission,” says Christian von Koenigsegg, the marque’s founder and current CEO.

The Gemera HV8 hides a peppy 1,479 HP-rated V8 heart inside it
However, Koenigsegg won’t just settle with a 1,381 HP four-seater hypercar, as the Gemera also comes with a much peppier HV8 (Hot V8) variant. As its name suggests, this souped-up Gemera gets a sizable 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 mill taken from the Koenigsegg Jesko, which by itself outputs 1,479 HP. Combined with the Dark Matter electric motor and LSTT ‘gearbox’, Gemara HV8 will have an astounding total system output of 2,269 HP – making it the most powerful production car ever made.

“The Gemera HV8 is not only the most powerful and extreme production car on planet Earth, with an astonishing 1.11hp per kg, but it is also the most practical and user-friendly sports car ever created,” Mr. Koenigsegg added. “Its incredible response, handling, engine sound, crisp transmission, spacious interior, and four-wheel-drive systems combine to create an unprecedented and unparalleled driving experience, ready to set numerous records of performance around tracks and in straight lines.”

From the inside, the Gemera looks like a livable, four-seater car with modern amenities and features
In spite of being the most powerful car on Earth, the Gemera still boasts enough comfort and modern amenities to make it a somewhat ‘livable’ four-seater car. Inside, you’ll get things like the central infotainment display with Apple CarPlay support, sizable infotainment screen for the rear seats, ISOFIX anchors for child seats, heated and power-adjustable seats, and more.
Should you find the Gemera’s 200-litre boot space too small for you, this hypercar also comes with roof rack mounts – theoretically meaning that you can install roof boxes on top of the car.

The Koenigsegg Gemera four-seater ‘megacar’ will be produced at the marque’s latest facility at the Koenigsegg Campus in Angelholm, Sweden. With its production poised to begin at the end of 2024, the Gemera will commence its deliveries from 2025 onwards.
