Gentari Inks MoU With BMW Malaysia - Explore Green Transportation Ecosystem
Gentari Sdn Bhd (Gentari), a leading clean energy solutions provider, has made an important step towards encouraging green mobility and renewable energy in Malaysia. The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BMW Malaysia through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd.
The collaboration's goal is to explore and develop alternative green transportation options, with an emphasis on electric cars (EVs). Gentari and BMW will collaborate to install EV charging infrastructure at a variety of locations, including BMW dealerships. They also want to launch a variety of EV fleet solutions targeted to the Malaysian market.
Furthermore, the collaboration aims to deliver value-added services to BMW EV owners, such as EV charging subscription plans, electric forecourts, portable charging, and mobile charging services. Furthermore, both organisations are committed to building a shared renewable energy infrastructure to fuel these sustainable transportation efforts.
Shah Yang Razalli, Deputy CEO of Gentari and CEO of Green Mobility Sdn Bhd, and Hans de Visser, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia, attended the MoU signing ceremony held at Mandarin Oriental in Kuala Lumpur.
According to Shah Yang Razalli, “We are thrilled to collaborate with a prestigious automotive brand like BMW to expand the accessibility of green mobility services and solutions in Malaysia. Additionally, Gentari's capabilities in renewable energy will also help to establish a more comprehensive green electron value chain and together, we can pave the way for a greener and more sustainable future.”
Adding to that, Hans de Visser said, “As the leading premium automaker offering the largest portfolio of Electric Vehicles in Malaysia, we at BMW Group Malaysia are pleased to collaborate with Gentari to develop more mobility solutions, services as well as infrastructure to drive more Clean and Responsible technology and practices for the automotive industry here. I can already envision this partnership shaping the future mobility landscape of Malaysia, offering more solutions created through the means of sustainable development and circularity.”
Gentari has deployed around 160 charging sites in Malaysia since its introduction in June 2022, with a goal of 400 charging points by the end of 2023. Furthermore, Gentari aims to become the most valuable sustainable energy solutions partner in Asia Pacific by 2030, securing more than 10% of the charge point and Vehicle-as-a-Service (VaaS) market share in key Asian markets.
