Tailor Made Ferrari 812 Competizione ‘Sketchbook’ Set to Be Auctioned

Renowned Italian sportscars maker Ferrari has unveiled a one-off Tailor Made Ferrari 812 Competizione, which is making its way to the auction in New York for a charity event. Penned by Ferrari’s chief designer Flavio Manzoni, this one-off special features a slew of sketches painted on its bodywork, depicting the process of how an actual Ferrari is being designed in the first place.

This one-off 812 Competizione is a essentially a giant moving sketchbook
Serving as a canvas to this ultra-rare ‘sketchbook’ as Ferrari’s signature Giallo Tristrato yellow exterior hue, with the matte Nero DS Sketch used to trace the chief designer’s details and sketches. Aside from contouring lines, there’s also few parts of the car being labelled such as the air vents which is labelled as ‘Aero-Blade’, as well as several designer’s notes – making the 812 Competizione looked like it came straight out of Mr. Manzoni’s sketchpad.

On board, this special 812 Competizione also comes with several sketches and notes on the seats and front dash. Similar to its exterior, these sketched-up parts are finished in the matching yellow hue as the exterior, with the artwork being made with the same matte black finish. Other than that, you’ll also get several black-finished Alcantara finishes here, including on the upper part of its front dash and the steering wheel. Also special to this 812 Competizione is the carbon fibre door sill plates, which are printed with the artwork of the car, painted in the same Giallo Tristrato as the exterior.

The Ferrari 812 Competizione stood as the performance-oriented variant of the 812
Aside from the elaborate artwork, this Tailor Made Ferrari looks pretty much the same as the standard 812 Competizione, featuring a slew of aggressive aero parts that not only adds stylishness to the car, but also helps to improve its aerodynamic performance. Under the hood, this special model packs the same 6.5-litre nat-asp V12 mill that delivers 818 HP and 695 NM.

Presented during the Monterey Car Week 2023 last weekend, this one-off Tailor Made Ferrari 812 Competizione is heading for a charity auction at the upcoming Ferrari Gala, scheduled to take place in New York City this October 17. According to the Italian automaker, all proceeds received from this model will be donated to “projects to support education for young people.”
Judging from the past one-off Ferraris’ performances at the auction house, we can expect this special model to fetch serious dollars, perhaps doubling or tripling the standard 812 Competizione’s price tag of $600,000 (RM2.78 million).
