The BYD DOLPHIN and the soon-to-be-launched BYD SEAL in Malaysia have both achieved prestigious five-star safety ratings from Euro NCAP, Europe's leading independent safety assessment program.
The D-segment sedan, BYD SEAL, demonstrated outstanding performance across the entire safety testing process, showcasing the vehicle's remarkable active and passive safety features, as well as the structural advantages of BYD's CTB (Cell to Body) technology. In parallel, the C-segment hatchback, BYD DOLPHIN, displayed exceptional quality, earning high scores for the protection of both adult and child occupants.

Euro NCAP introduced the star safety rating system to facilitate consumers, their families, and businesses in making vehicle comparisons more straightforward and to help them select the safest option tailored to their needs.
Both the BYD SEAL (D-segment sedan) and the BYD DOLPHIN (C-segment hatchback) were granted 5-star ratings after evaluation in four essential categories: adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, safety assistance, and protection for vulnerable road users.

Central to these outstanding test results is BYD's unwavering commitment to quality and cutting-edge technology. BYD's latest-generation e-Platform 3.0 includes the world's first mass-produced, highly integrated 8-in-1 electric powertrain that connects all electric control units and management systems, in addition to the rigorously tested Blade Battery. The BYD e-Platform 3.0 incorporates a 'multi-load path' structure that regulates energy absorption during collisions, thereby minimising intrusion into the passenger cabin.

Passenger protection is further enhanced by a reinforced body structure with high torsional rigidity. The BYD SEAL boasts an impressive torsional stiffness akin to a sports car, with a value of 40,500 N.m/degree. During safety tests, this resulted in an outstanding 89% score for Adult Occupant protection.
Moreover, thanks to the Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology that bolsters vehicle safety, the passenger compartment of the BYD SEAL remained stable during the frontal offset test, providing commendable protection for both the driver and passenger. The BYD SEAL also offered effective protection against whiplash injuries. Notably, the advanced eCall system and the post-impact braking system designed to prevent secondary collisions received special recognition.

In the Child Occupant protection tests, the BYD SEAL achieved an impressive 87% score, minimising impact to critical body areas for both child dummies in both frontal and side barrier tests. Vulnerable Road Users, including pedestrians and cyclists, enjoyed a commendable 82% level of protection thanks to the Autonomous Emergency Braking System (AEB).
The BYD DOLPHIN likewise earned a maximum score in the Euro NCAP Safety Test, primarily due to its abundance of safety features and standard advanced driver assistance systems. In terms of Adult Occupant protection, the BYD DOLPHIN scored an impressive 89%, with Euro NCAP praising the stability of the passenger compartment in frontal offset tests, ensuring protection for occupants of varying sizes and seating positions.

In the Child Occupant protection tests, the BYD DOLPHIN achieved an 87% score, minimising impact to critical body areas tests on the front seats and head restraints demonstrated effective protection against whiplash injuries in the event of a rear-end collision.
The BYD DOLPHIN's safety assist systems earned a score of 79%, with Euro NCAP highlighting the performance of the camera-based Intelligent Speed Limit Assist and Lane Keeping Assist systems. The vehicle's autonomous emergency braking system (AEB) contributed to a vulnerable road user score of 85%.
