MBM have now made the refreshed 2023MY Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4Matic+ Coupe is now available locally!
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) updated its local AMG performance models line-up earlier today by announcing the availability of the facelifted 2023 Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4Matic+ Coupe earlier today.
As a recap, the second-gen (C118) four-door coupe model based on the fourth-gen (W177) A-Class hatchback is sold exclusively in 45 S AMG form locally by MBM. Lower end guises of the second-gen CLA aren’t officially offered by the firm, with the booted V177 version of the A-Class filling this segment instead.

Exterior changes are minute to say the least, but it does see striking the paint options, red-painted brake calipers, as well as new headlights and taillights.
Predictably, the refreshed 2023 model year version of the AMG-tuned second-gen CLA arrives in Malaysia with a minor nip-tuck inside and out. Much of which mirrors what we saw in the also face-lifted W177 A45 S hatchback model that launched back in June this year.
The most obvious change can be seen in the redesigned Multibeam LED headlights and LED taillights, plus new blue and grey paint options. Whilst the AMG Aerodynamics Package is primed as standard, the AMG Aerodynamics Package Plus can be optionally equipped, as is the AMG Night Package II trims.

Changes on board are equally minute, but it does see the adoption of a new AMG Performance steering wheels, updated Burmester audio suite with Dolby Atmos, and a heightened active driver assist (ADAS) package.
On board, the cabin now sees the adoption of a new AMG Performance steering wheel, whilst its Burmester audio has also been revised with newly added Dolby Atmos surround sound. Redesigned too are the telematics system display.
Lastly, MBM have also added the Driving Assistant Package as standard. This sees Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Acive Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and Active Brake Assist all primed as standard, along with Active Parking Assist powered by 360-degree cameras.

Also available, albeit 'limitedly', is a Street Style Edition variant. This one boast a more striking colourway featuring the Mountain Grey Magno paint plus chequered flag AMG logo and pattern graphics.
Like its refreshed hatchback twin, MBM have also made a ‘Street Style Edition’ variant of the CLA 45 S available too. This is also a limited offer, but MBM were again coy about exact numbers or allocations for this as they were with the refreshed A45 S model with the same treatment.
This limited edition gets an exclusive Mountain Grey Magno paint, chequered flag AMG logo and pattern in the side foiling, fluorescent orange accents, cross-spoke 19-inch AMG alloy wheels, red-painted brake calipers, AMG Night Package I and II trims, AMG fuel filler cap, and AMG Aerodynamics package.

Street Style Edition also gets a slightly different interior treatment, along with more striking wheels and AMG fuel filler cap, amongst other things.
On board, this special gets a combination micro-cut leather and microfibre upholstery, aluminium AMG trims, contrast orange stitching, and AMG door-sill trims with black interchangeable covers plus Edition-specific lighting in red. Capping things off are AMG floor mats with ‘Street Style Edition’ script.

Unchanged is the hand-built 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo mill with 421 HP and 500 NM, 8-speed AMG DCT box, and 4Matic+ driveline. All this sees 0-100 KM/H done in 4.1 secs.
Like the face-lifted A45 S hatch, this booted fastback twin sees no mechanical changes. It continues to harness the same hand-built 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbocharged petrol mill outputting 421 HP and 500 NM. An 8-speed AMG DCT box and trick 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup manages said outputs.
Altogether, the CLA 45 S despatches 0-100 KM/H in just 4.1 seconds, making it just 0.2 seconds slower that its lighter, un-booted hatchback twin. Incidentally, both also share the same electronically capped V-max of 270 KM/H.

Also 'face-lifted' is price, and things start at RM527,888 now for the 'base' CLA 45 S variant (left), whilst the Street Style Edition (right) costs RM30,000 more at RM557,888.
Available for orders through local delaers now, the refreshed 2023 Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4Matic+ Coupe sees one last change, and that being its heftier new price tag. The regular variant commands RM527,888, whilst the Street Style Edition costs RM30,000 more at RM557,888.
For reference, when the pre-facelift model was first launched back in June 2022, it commanded an already hefty figure of RM448,888 then. Even with this sizeable price hike, would you still be keen on this booted but arguably sleeker twin to Mercedes-AMG’s super-hatch? Hit the comments below with your thoughts…
