MBM Teases Updated 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB, Launches Soon

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) took to social media late yesterday with this teaser. All signs point towards the refreshed GLB model that's set to launch very soon.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has taken to social media late yesterday with yet another new model teaser. While the model wasn’t named outright, the veiled silhouette of which shown clearly indicates one model – the updated 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB crossover SUV.
Evidently, the squared compact luxury SUV with three-rows of seats is one of the last few from the three-point star’s MFA Platform-based models still on sale locally that’s due for an update. Prior to this, stablemates like the A-Class sedan and hatch, CLA shooting brake, as well as the lifted GLA crossover, have undergone at least one update.
Globally, Mercedes-Benz revealed the refreshed GLB model (chassis code: X247) back in March 2023 alongside the updated GLA (H247) crossover. A shared theme here besides mild styling tweaks is a switch to new mild-hybrid (MHEV) powertrains in selected variants. Said new partially-electrified powertrains offer enhanced outputs and efficiency too.
From which, MBM has introduced the refreshed GLA in GLA 200 guise earlier this year, albeit sans the new MHEV powertrain mentioned. Instead, the GLA 200 mirrors the base A200 Progressive Line sedan on this front, soldiering on with a tried-and-tested 1.3-litre 4-cyl turbo petrol mill. From the revised A-Class sedan range, just the A250 4Matic sedan received a new MHEV heart.

Face-lifted 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB (X247) revealed early last year. Expect the GLB250 4Matic guise to gain a new MHEV powerplant, mirroring its A250 4Matic sedan twin.
With that, we can perhaps expect similar changes to occur in the revised GLB200 variant, whereas the revised GLB250 4Matic could mirror what we saw in its A250 4Matic sedan twin by gaining a new MHEV powertrain. As a refresher, said package, comprised of a 2.0-litre 4-cyl petrol mill paired with a new 48-volt starter generator (ISG), offering up 224 HP and 350 NM outputs.
MBM did not disclose exactly when it intends to launch the revised 2024MY GLB locally, but given it has already begun teasing it online, we may not have long to wait. We’ll have more details once it does.
