Launched: Face-lifted Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4Matic CKD – From RM528,888

Announced today is the face-lifted V167-gen Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4Matic luxury SUV. The model continues to be locally assembled (CKD) in Pekan, Pahang too.
At long last, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) have introduced the refreshed W167-generation GLE 450 4Matic luxury SUV for the local market.
The model was announced earlier today but was previewed to local press as far back as Nov last year – around the same when the firm launched the new second-gen GLC 300 4Matic Coupe and face-lifted C167-gen AMG GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe models.

V167 chassis code means the refreshed GLE 450 is a LWB version that offers three-rows of seats.
The V167 chassis code designation signals that MBM continues to offer the GLE 450 in long-wheelbase (LWB) form, which offer a three-row seating layout – yes, this is a 7-seat luxury SUV, folks.
Like its predecessor, the refreshed GLE 450 model continues to roll off the line locally from MBM’s assembly plant in pekan, Pahang. Leading the bill of changes are mild exterior design tweaks, followed by a revised cabin too.

The grille, headlights, and front bumper have all been revised in this face-lifted model.
Key exterior changes sees a revised front bumper, new AMG Line chrome front apron, new AMG Line diamond front grille, as well as updated all-LED head- and taillights, the former sporting new LED DRL graphics too.
New too are the AMG Line side sill panels, body-coloured wheel arch cladding, and AMG Line rear apron with diffuser-look insert. Completing the exterior’s AMG Line treatment are new rolling stock, which sees 21-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels paired with larger brake discs.

Similarly, the cabin has also been refreshed with a new steering wheel, new upholstery materials, updated tech, and several notable new trims.
On board, the GLE 450’s cabin gains new upholstery combination Artico faux-leather and microfibre seat upholstery , new steering wheel design wrapped in Nappa leather and primed with new touch-sensitive control panels, and new metal air-vents with chrome surrounds.
Other key highlights sees the presence of Anthracite open-pore oak wood trims and inserts, and updated dual-digital displays (12.3-inches each). The latter now runs the latest MBUX software with navigation function plus augmented reality display, and now offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Paired with it too is an updated 13-speaker Burmester 3D surround audio suite.

Under the hood, the 3.0-litre in-line 6-cyl turbo petrol MHEV mill has been revised with a slight power bump - 381 HP. that plus 500 NM of twist, slick 9-speed transmission, and AWD sees 0-100 KM/H done in just 5.6 seconds.
Under the hood, the GLE 450 continues to employ a 3.0-litre in-line 6-cyl turbo petrol mill, but it’s now paired with the three-point star’s second generation mild-hybrid (MHEV) tech. Output has risen slightly to 381 HP and 500 NM, both driving all four wheels via a 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic box and 4Matic all-wheel-drive (AWD). Altogether, it sees 0-100 KM/H done in just 5.6 seconds.
Lastly, revisions were made on the active driver assist (ADAS) features primed in the luxury SUV. It now boasts the Driving Assistance Package Plus that adds Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Steering Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, or PRE-SAFE Impulse Side. New too is the Parking System Generation 5.0 that reintroduces perpendicular parking functionality to the Active Parking Assistant.
Opened for orders at authorised Mercedes-Benz dealers nationwide, the refreshed Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4Matic commands a price tag of RM528,888 sans insurance.
