BYD Hits 6 Millionth NEVs Production Milestone

Barely three months after hitting the 5 millionth mark, BYD New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) have now hit the 6 millionth production mark.
Chinese new energy vehicles (NEVs) giant BYD has upped the ante this week as it surpasses the 6 millionth production mark. The milestone was achieved barely three months since it hit the 5 millionth production mark for its NEVs back in Aug this year.
In a press statement issued earlier today, BYD revealed that the 6 millionth NEV unit to roll off its production line in China was the newly unveiled Bao 5 PHEV super-SUV from its Fang Cheng Bao sub-brand.

A ceremony was held to mark the 6 millionth NEV produced by BYD, which happens to be its just-unveiled Bao 5 PHEV super-SUV from its Fang Cheng Bao sub-brand.
Besides Fang Cheng Bao, BYD’s port-folio of NEV sub-brands include the Dynasty and Ocean series, Denza, as well as the Yangwang luxury automobiles arm. Passenger cars aside, BYD has also an array of electrified public transit solutions such as busses and taxis.
Altogether, BYD also saw its Oct 2023 sales figure exceed the 300,000 units mark. Much of which stems from rapid global expansion, with the brand now present in 58 countries and regions including Malaysia.
Aside from manufacturing and producing NEVs both domestically in China and abroad, BYD is also at the forefront of expanding the NEV manufacturing sector in China. This is evident through its recent appointment to supply iron-based batteries for leading German automaker Audi.

Locally, BYD is charting healthy sales for both its Atto 3 crossover and Dolphin hatch. The marque also continued expanding its local dealerships and after-sales outlets network.
Locally, BYD’s has been actively expanding its local network of dealerships and after-sales points. Having launched itself with the Atto 3 EV crossover late last year, BYD’s Malaysian line-up also grew earlier this year following the launch of the new Dolphin EV hatchback.
This line-up is also set to grow bigger soon with the impending arrival of the new BYD Seal sports saloon. Said model has launched in both Thailand and Singapore recently, and Malaysia is set to be the next market for said EV saloon to break into.
