KTM Komuter Now Supports MyDebit Card Payments
It is now easier to board a KTM Komuter train in the Klang Valley and Utara lines as the public transport system now accepts payment via MyDebit cards at its Automated Control Gate (ACG), with an RM30 pre-auth charge applied.
There are, however, some limitations. As previously stated, KTM only accepts MyDebit cards issued by local banks; the card in question must also be contactless payment enabled. Please keep in mind that if the RM30 pre-auth charge cannot be obtained from your MyDebit card, KTM will blacklist it.
Once a MyDebit card has been blacklisted by KTM, it cannot be used for any of the company's other services. (Of course, you can still use the card for other purposes.) To have your card removed from the blacklist, you must go to a KTM counter and explain your situation. A penalty may also be imposed, depending on what you did to cause the card to be blacklisted.
More information about using your MyDebit card to pay for KTM Komuter rides can be found here. Every entry with a MyDebit card will be charged at the adult rate, so if you want a different ticket type, you must use the ticket counter or kiosk instead.
KTM announced last month that Komuter Link cards will no longer be accepted while the company upgrades its ticketing system. A new Komuter Link card will be available in the future, but for now, you'll need to download the KTMB Mobile (KITS) app and tap in and out with your phone.
