ChargeSini has deployed its first DC charger at Mydin Bukit Mertajam, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mydin Hypermarket back in Oct this year.

According to the MoU, there will be a total of 24 DC charging stations to be built by ChargeSini at selected Mydin outlets nationwide by Mar 2024. This falls perfectly in line with ChargeSini’s growth strategy of expanding its network in tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants, malls, and condominiums.

The ChargeSini Mydin Bukit Mertajam DC charging station would feature two electric vehicle charging bays (EVCB) powered by a dual-gun CCS2 Wattbox 80 kW DC charger. To initiate a charging session, EV users would be required to use the ChargeSini App.

More importantly, ChargeSini Mydin Bukit Mertajam station will also adopt the new EVCB regulation set by PLANMalaysia. Also in accordance with the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (FRDM) guidelines, this new regulation requires two (2) EVCB to be flanked by four (4) more isolation bays.

The charging rate offered via the ChargeSini app is pretty dynamic whereby it's based on the kWh rate. For the Mydin Bukit Mertajam DC chargers, the rates would be set at RM1.19/kWh.

All ChargeSini charging sessions will be bound by a minimum RM5 charging fee, and drivers are given a 15-minute grace period to relocate their vehicle once their charging session has ended. Users who fail to relocate their vehicle will be charged a RM1 idle fee for every 5 minutes thereafter in order to prevent EV hogging the charging bay.
