Prasarana Will Enable Credit And Debit Card Options At Rail Stations By July
In response to an article published yesterday in the New Straits Times about train commuters' dissatisfaction with the lack of ticket payment options, Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) says it plans to enable credit and debit card payments at ticketing counters, including for the My50 travel pass, at all rail stations by July of next year.
Train commuters are frustrated by the lack of options for topping up their monthly My50 passes, and have had to make a beeline for the station counters to do so with only cash.
Prasarana said in a statement that they would also implement an open payment system for all rail services by the fourth quarter of 2025, adding that the My50 travel pass, which is only available to Malaysians, can be purchased in cash or QRPay at all rail stations and in cash at key bus hubs.

Commuters who buy the My50 online through MyRapid Shop, on the other hand, have the option of using a credit card, a debit card, or an online transfer.
"However, in order to authenticate the user's Malaysian identity card, the My50 pass must be physically activated over the counter at any rail station and key bus hubs."
"In response to a user's comment in the article about ticket vending machines (TVMs) at Maluri MRT station, please be advised that Maluri MRT station has six TVMs for purchasing tokens and two (2) Add Value Machines (AVMs) for topping up Touch 'n Go (TNG) cards."
"At the moment, these machines only accept cash payments." Credit and debit card payments are accepted at TVMs and ticketing counters.
