New OTA Software Updates For IHUs In Proton X50 And X90

Proton just rolled out a new over-the-air (OTA) software update pack for both the Proton X50 (left) and new Proton X90 (right) models earlier today.

Heads up Proton X50 and Proton X90 owners, the national carmaker just rolled out new over-the-air (OTA) software updates for the integrated head units (IHUs) primed in both these Geely-based crossover SUV models.

Proton announced and detailed these OTA updates earlier today via two Facebook posts - see it here and here. As a refresher, both models are primed with 10.25-inch (X50) or 12.3-inch (X90) central infotainment touchscreen displays that runs on ATLAS OS developed by Proton’s tech subsidiary ACO Tech.

These new OTA software updates for the IHUs in the X50 and X90 promises to improve overall user experience and, for the X50, improvements for the Syok digital radio app too.

These updates are now available for both the X50's 10.25-inch (left) and X90's 12.3-inch (right) infotainment displays that runs ATLAS OS developed by ACO Tech.

For the X50 compact crossover SUV, the update promises improved experience for the Syok digital radio app. Said update is now available for the IHUs primed across all variants of the X50 model (Standard, Executive, Premium, and Flagship).

For the larger X90 three-row MHEV SUV, this latest OTA update presumably brings a host of bug fixes to improve overall user experience. It is also available for the IHUs primed in all four X90 variants available (Standard, Executive, Premium, and Flagship).

Simple instructions on acquiring the latest OTA software update for the X50 and X90 IHUs posted by Proton earlier today via Facebook.

Proton also detailed simple instructions on how to acquire these OTA updates. Owners will firstly need to have their vehicle is running and have their IHUs connected to the internet. Once the latter connection is established, the update pack will automatically download in the background.

After the update download is complete, owners can then initiate its installation at any time. Proton says the entire update process will take roughly 20 minutes. Owners are reminded to not switch off their IHUs or kill the engine until this new OTA update pack installation is complete.
