Nissan GT-R-Powered Praga Bohema Hypercar Enters Production

Praga has started the production of the Bohema hypercar
Just over one year and a few months after its initial release was made public, Czech-based automaker Praga is finally to commence production of its first-ever hypercar model, the Bohema. Despite its aggressive design, Praga claims that the production Bohema will be a road-legal car featuring tons of track-focused elements.
Previously unveiled back in 2022, the Bohema will be powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged VR38DETT V6 mill borrowed from the iconic Nissan GT-R. Paired with a dry sump system and a pair of new turbocharger units, this six-pot mill is now rated at 700 HP and 724 NM – a significant increase over the standard GT-R’s output of 565 HP and 632 NM.

While its total system output figure seems pale compared to other hypercars, Praga takes pride in designing the Bohema to be as lightweight as possible. Thanks to its full carbon fibre monocoque chassis, the Bohema weighs less than 1,000 KG – making it even lighter than most conventional sportscars nowadays.

The Bohema has been put through intensive testing at several iconic racetracks around Europe
Ahead of its production commencement and first unit delivery, Praga has spent countless hours developing and testing the Bohema. Throughout its testing period, this track-focused hypercar has visited several world-renowned race tracks like Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, Red Bull Ring in Austria, and even the notorious Nurburgring in Germany.

In charge of testing the Bohema alongside Praga’s own test driver Josef Kral were Formula One alum Romain Grosjean and former Stig Ben Collins. As a result, Praga has obtained valuable feedback from the drivers regarding the Bohema’s performance, which enables the automaker to fine-tune its machine before entering production.

With each unit of the Bohema set to be hand-crafted at Praga’s factory in the Czech Republic, the company aims to deliver the first example of the Bohema to customers in the first half of 2024. Depending on the booking numbers garnered, Praga claims the Bohema’s production will last about four years, which is quite long considering the very limited production numbers planned by the automaker.
Commenting on this momentous occasion, Praga’s owner Thomas Kasparek said, “This is an important milestone for Praga in our long 117-year history. We’re especially proud to be commencing production only one year after revealing the Bohema prototype car.”
“We are monitoring every stage of the build process very closely to make sure that the Bohema production car matches, and even exceeds, our customers’ expectations,” Kasparek added.

Though Praga didn’t specify the exact production number for the Bohema, the automaker says each one of them will be tagged at €1.36 million (RM6.98 million approx.), which should put the Bohema on the same level as other limited-edition hypercars out there.
