Porsche Has Delivered 320,221 Vehicles in 2023
Porsche has delivered a total of 320,221 vehicles worldwide in 2023
Porsche ended 2023 on a positive note, as the German automaker charted robust growth in its global sales volume. In 2023 alone, the Stuttgart-based marque managed to deliver a total of 320,221 units, which is 3% more than the previous year’s record of 309,884 units.
Europe remains Porsche’s strongest market, with the automaker delivering 32,430 units specifically for its native Germany market, while the rest of the continent charted at 70,229 – a 10% increase from the previous year. Sitting comfortably in second place is the North American market with 86,059 units delivered (a 9% increase from 2022), followed by the Chinese market with 79,283 units.
Aside from those powerhouses, Porsche has also recorded a decent 16% increase in sales for other overseas markets, with a total of 52,220 units delivered in 2023.
To no one’s surprise, both the Cayenne and Macan SUVs retain their position as the marque’s best-selling models, with a total of 87,553 units and 87,335 units delivered, respectively. Surprisingly, the marque’s flagship sportscar, the 911, has recorded the largest increase of 24% in 2023, with up to 50,146 examples delivered to customers worldwide. Following the 911 closely in sales increase is the Taycan EV, with 40,629 units shipped out in 2023 – a 17% increase over the previous year.
From one saloon to another, 2023 saw a total of 34,020 units of the Panamera sold globally, with said figure excluding the newly-launched third-gen model, which is set to hit the market later this year. Topping off Porsche’s model lineup are the 718 series, where a total of 20,518 Boxters and Caymans were shipped worldwide.
For 2024, Porsche has a pretty ambitious plan under its wraps, with the automaker poised to launch its second-ever all-electric offering, the new Porsche Macan EV. Besides that, Porsche sales boss Detlev von Platen also revealed that the automaker is planning to update at least four of its six current models this year, including the new Taycan GT EV saloon and perhaps the rumoured 911 hybrid.
“We’re laying the groundwork for the future and are updating four out of six model series – that’s more product launches with staggered deployments than ever before in a single year,” van Platen said.
