Report: Hybrid V8 Set To Power Lamborghini Huracan Replacement

Reports online indicate that the upcoming Lamborghini Huracan successor will adopt a 'bespoke' V8 PHEV powertrain to replace its signature V10 screamer.
Lamborghini has embraced electrification well, and this is evident through its latest Revuelto flagship. Said successor to the Aventador pairs the raging bull marque’s signature naturally aspirated V12 mill with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) setup, thus merging the best of both worlds into one.
A similar approach is also set for the upcoming successor for the smaller and more affordable Huracan. In fact, Autocar UK reports that the Huracan’s successor will swap the outgoing model’s naturally aspirated V10 screamer for a blown V8 PHEV setup.
Said V8 motor will reportedly be a “highly bespoke proposition,” but will also likely retain a similar 4.0-litre displacement and twin-turbo aspiration as the V8 unit primed in the Urus super-SUV. While it wont have the symphonic howl of the outgoing V10, expect this V8 to have high-revving abilities.

For the new Revuelto flagship, the nat-asp V12 and tri-motor PHEV setup delivers 1,001 HP and 807 NM. The Huracan's replacement will instead harness a twin-turbo V8, likely with a dual-motor PHEV setup too.
Like the Revuelto flagship, the Huracan’s replacement will likely harness the same axial-flux electric motors supplied by UK firm Yasa. Whilst the Revuelto has three e-motors, expect the still unnamed Huracan replacement to harness a dual e-motor setup instead, along with the Revuelto’s 3.8 kWh battery pack.
With that, we perhaps cannot expect the Huracan’s electrified successor to offer four-figure power outputs, but it will perhaps come close enough to which. For reference, the Revuelto’s V12 PHEV package delivers combined outputs of 1,001 HP (1,015 PS) and 807 NM.
Recently, the raging bull marque also detailed its latest active toe and camber system – the first of its kind – that promises enhanced agility. There is a chance that this tech could be primed in this upcoming successor to the Huracan too.

Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica launched in Malaysia back in mid-2022. This stood as a 'mid-point' between the EVO RWD and track-focused STO variants.

The Huracan model bows out with an off-road and rally-ready Huracan Sterrato special. Just 1,499 units will be made.
First shown in 2014, the Huracan succeeded the Gallardo, the latter marking Lamborghini’s return into the smaller mid-sized sportscar space in 2003 since the Jalpa model from the 1980s. Unlike the Jalpa, both the Gallardo and Huracan proved immensely popular.
Countless limited-run specials were built on both models, with the latest being the off-road and rally-ready Huracan Sterrato. Get to know said dirt-busting version of the raging bull marque V10-powered staple by clicking these blue words…
