Suzuki Heads to TAS 2024 with Three New Concepts
![]()
Suzuki's exhibition at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024 will be headlined by a trio of new concepts
Besides Nissan and Honda, Suzuki is also poised to participate in the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon (TAS) 2024 show. While the rally-themed Suzuki Jimny twins are heading to TAS 2024 under DAMD’s flag, the Hamamatsu-based marque will field three quirky yet stylish concept models for its lineup – all based on the current crop of Suzuki models in Japan.

The Suzuki Swift Cool Yellow Rev Concept is based on the new fourth-gen Swift supermini hatch
Starting with the Swift Cool Yellow Rev Concept, this concept hatchback is based on the newly-debuted fourth-gen Swift supermini, featuring a slew of custom paint jobs and body work. As its name suggests, this concept hatch comes draped in a special Cool Yellow Metallic shade, plus special ‘Swift’ decals on its sides – the latter finished in two shades of grey.
As for the additional parts, the Swift Cool Yellow Rev Concept also features a slew of dark grey-hued accents around its exterior while riding on black-hued alloy wheels. And as expected, there is no mention of any powertrain upgrades for this concept hatch. While this concept boasts a sportier look compared to its standard donor, Suzuki insisted that the Swift Cool Yellow Rev Concept is not a preview for the upcoming next-gen Swift Sport model.

Suzuki Super Carry Mountain Trail Concept kei truck
Besides the stylish Swift concept, Suzuki’s lineup will also feature two kei car concepts, with the first one being based on the Suzuki Super Carry kei truck. Dubbed the Super Carry Mountain Trail Concept, this concept kei truck is by far the most rugged and off-road-ready iteration of the Super Carry model.
Its eye-catching golden-yellow hue is contrasted with a slew of black accents all around the bodywork. Meanwhile, its doors and standard truck flatbed have been replaced with black metal tubes instead, plus a matching exoskeleton structure that protects its front end, the main pillars, and the roof. Speaking of the roof, this rugged kei truck also sports a functional roof rack with LED bar.
Adding more ruggedness to this kei truck are the front metal skid plates and a set of beadlock wheels shod in off-road-ready tyres, with an extra spare wheel mounted on the flatbed bracket. Inside, you’ll notice that this concept comes with racing-style bucket seats instead of the standard ones, while its side and rear glass windows are being replaced by rally-style cargo nets.
The Suzuki Spacia Papa Boku Kitchen concept kei car comes with a built-in kitchen inside its cabin
Completing Suzuki’s concept trio is the special Suzuki Spacia Papa Boku Kitchen Concept. Previewing the upcoming Suzuki Spacia Gear variant, this concept kei car boasts a redesigned body kit that makes it distinctly different from both the standard Spacia and Spacia Custom.
Up front, this Spacia concept gets a Jeep-inspired front face, featuring a new front grille with vertical slats, rounded headlights, a honeycomb insert for its lower intake, as well as a multi-tone paint job. While it is not as rugged as the Super Carry Mountain Trail Concept, the Spacia concept rides on a rugged-looking set of wheels finished in the same bronze hue used on its front and side skid plates.
And as its name implies, the Spacia Papa Boku Kitchen concept comes with a built-in kitchen space inside its cabin, which occupies both the rear seats and cargo space of this kei car. According to Suzuki, the kitchen is designed specifically for both adults and children to use, with the aim of enhancing collaborations between parents and children through cooking activities during family camping trips.

Besides the three main concepts, Suzuki’s exhibition at the upcoming TAS 2024 will also feature other vehicles from its current JDM lineup, including the new Swift, Spacia, Spacia Custom, Super Carry, Solio Bandit, and many more. We are expected to learn more about these concepts as we get closer to TAS 2024’s opening date, which is set to take place from Jan 12 to 14.
