The announcement issued by both PLUS and Gelumbang Jaya via Facebook earlier this week about tonight's temporary closure of a stretch of the NKVE.

Heads up motorists, a stretch of the  New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) near the Jalan Duta Toll Plaza will be closed temporarily tonight to facilitate a major construction effort. This was confirmed by PLUS and contractors Gelumbang Jaya online this week via Facebook – see it here and here.

According to the highway operator, the closure applies to both directions of traffic at KM27.85. For Northbound travelers, that’s the uphill stretch spanning just after the Jalan Duta Toll Plaza. From Sungai Buloh, it’s the downhill stretch leading up towards said toll plaza.

The closure is set to last from 11PM tonight (4 Jan) until 5AM tomorrow morning (5 Jan). According to PLUS, the purpose of the this temporary closure is to facilitate gantry truss launching works by outdoor ad company Gelumbang Jaya at said stretch of the NKVE.

PLUS adds that the area will be fully impassable by traffic during the announced closure times, and that traffic flow will be controlled by traffic wardens stationed on-site in a stop-go manner. This means motorists will face some waiting time at this stretch during the noted times.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and adhere to instructions issued by crews on-site.
