GCE Access Points At Elmina Closed From April 27 To July 26
Prolintas Expressway Sdn. Bhd. (PESB), concession holder for the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE), announced the closure of two highway access points at Elmina.
This is set to last starting today, April 27, 2024, in an effort to improve traffic flow in the area. The impacted entries include the eastbound entry from Elmina to Rawang, and the westbound entrance from Elmina to Shah Alam.
The closure is part of a three-month study to improve traffic conditions in the area, which will end on July 26, 2024. If the trial is effective at reducing congestion at the location, PESB intends to permanently restrict these entrances. The closure was considered and agreed upon by all relevant parties, including municipal governments, real estate developers, and residents' associations.
From the discussions with relevant stakeholders, it is understood that these entries disrupted traffic flow and caused severe congestion, particularly during peak hours.
Following the closure, motorists are encouraged to make U-turns at the roundabouts in both directions to access the respective entry into Rawang and Shah Alam.
