Neta Malaysia Set to Debut 2 New Models This Year, CKD Starts in Q1 2025

Neta Malaysia is poised to introduce two new EV models this year, namely the Aya and the X crossover.
Despite being one of the newest players in our local automotive industry, Neta has a pretty ambitious plan for our market this year. Aside from launching the new Lifetime Warranty and Loyalty Program for its customers, the Chinese EV marque is also poised to introduce two new models this year.

Also known as the Neta Aya, the facelifted Neta V is set to debut later in May this year.
As revealed during a special media trip to the upcoming NexV Manufacturing Sdn Bhd (NMSB) plant in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, Neta Malaysia is slated to launch the facelifted Neta V-II, also known as the Neta Aya in the Chinese market. Set to replace the ongoing Neta V, the Aya is slated to be introduced to our local market as early as May this year, with its first public appearance set to take place at the upcoming Malaysia Autoshow 2024 (MAS 2024).

Both the Neta V and Aya will be joined by the Neta X compact EV crossover.
The second model in question is the larger Neta X, which made its debut in Thailand at the 2024 Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) last month. Previously known as the Neta U in its native Chinese market, the Neta X is poised to make its landfall some time later this year, with its first public appearance also set to take place at the MAS 2024.

More importantly, Neta Malaysia is also planning to locally assemble (CKD) both of the aforementioned models at the upcoming NMSB plant. The automaker is confident that the facility will be ready for production as early as Q1 2025. with the first Neta Aya CKD set to be rolled off this plant in March 2025, followed by the Neta X later in October 2025.

With its groundbreaking ceremony taking place earlier in January this year, the NevX manufacturing plant will be built in three main phases, with the first one involving the construction of both the main assembly line and the test track, both poised for completion in Q1 2025. The following construction phases will involve dedicated body assembly and painting facilities, followed by the body press and battery assembly facility later in 2028.

Once all three phases have been completed, the NMSB production hub will boast an annual production capacity of up to 50,000. For now, however, Neta Malaysia anticipates the first phase of the project to cater to about 10,000 units per year, with said figure coming from both the Neta Aya and X EVs.
Aside from Neta, NMSB will also be in charge of assembling other passenger vehicle brands for export markets, including EV models from Chinese tech giant Skyworth. Not only restricted to EV production, the facility can also handle the manufacturing of ICE-powered vehicles, including motorcycles and commercial vehicles.
