Updated Audi Q7 & Q8 PHEV Variants Gets More Power And Range

Audi just revised both the Q7 (left) and Q8 (right) e quattro models. These are the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) iterations of the face-lifted second-gen MLB Evo-based luxury SUV.
It wasn’t that long ago that Audi updated both its second-generation Q7 and Q8 SUVs duo for the second time – the first came in 2020. The same effort saw House Ingolstadt revising their sportier S-badged variants too – the SQ7 and SQ8.
Now, Audi has revised the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant of its core MLB Evo-based luxury SUVs twin, which carry the e quattro trimline badge. Key changes have happened under the hood as both models gets larger new 25.9 kWh battery, as well as revised e-motors.
Said electrified half is paired with the four-ringed marque’s signature 3.0-litre V6 mill, both driving the wheels via an 8-speed automatic box. Altogether, outputs read at 389 HP and 600 NM in the 55 TFSI e quattro variant, which will despatch 0-100 KM/H in just 5.7 secs.

Both cars gained larger new 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery and revised e-motor. Plugging in to a 7.4 AC charger grants full charges in 3 hrs 45 mins, and up to 83 KM (WLTP) of EV range.

Paired to said electric half is a 3.0-litre V6 mill. Altogether, the 55 TFSI trimline offers 389 HP and 600 NM, whilst the 60 TFSI variant serves up 483 HP and 700 NM instead.
More power is available in the higher-end 60 TFSI e quattro variant slotted above which. Here, the same setup detailed outputs a higher 483 HP and 700 NM instead, thus resulting a quicker 0-100 KM/H dash in 5.0 secs too. However, both variants share electronically capped 240 KM/H V-max.
Back on the electrified half, the battery accepts 7.4 kW AC charging input, which fully recharges in approximately 3 hours and 45 mins. With a full charge, Audi claims both will do up to 83 KM (WLTP) of all electric driving range.
Audi adds that the EV mode in both have been “fine-tuned so that only battery-powered propulsion is used even when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed.” Audi also tweaked the charge mode to maximize efficiency and minimize engine usage.

Both the Q7 and Q8 e quattro goes on sale in Europe first later this month.
Elsewhere, both the Q7 and Q8 e quattro are aesthetically similar to their non-electrified siblings we’ve detailed prior. Both are set to enter markets starting with German and Europe later this month, with German prices starting from €85,500 (approx. RM436,408).
Whilst the prospects of seeing these PHEV Q7 and Q8 variants locally seems slim, just remember that local Volkswagen and Audi brand custodians PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM) recently launched the latest-gen and locally assembled (CKD) Volkswagen Touareg. Click here for details.
