Putrajaya Corporation (PPj), in partnership with the Ministry of Transport (MOT), is running a free trial of the Automated Rapid Transit (ART) trackless tram till July 31. If successful, the ART tram service, which uses CRRC technology from China, will begin operations permanently by end of this year.

Muhammad Masrizal Saad, an engineer from the PPj Engineering and Maintenance Department (Traffic and Public Transport Division), indicated that the tram will travel on two routes throughout the testing. Route 1 will run Monday through Friday, while Route 2 will operate on Saturdays and Sundays.

"Route 1 starts at the Putrajaya Sentral MRT station and runs through the government administrative areas of Precincts 2, 3, and 4. Meanwhile, Route 2 begins at Putrajaya Sentral MRT Station and continues to IOI City Mall," he stated at a recent media event.
