Auto Bavaria Debuts New BMW i5 Limited Edition – 20 Units Only, RM449K

Auto Bavaria became the first BMW dealership to debut the new BMW i5 Limited Edition, alongside the 520i.
Malaysia’s leading BMW and MINI dealership, Auto Bavaria, is welcoming yet another special addition to its lineup, namely the new BMW i5 Limited Edition. This special EV saloon arrives standard with the BMW M Performance Parts alongside the new, locally-assembled (CKD) BMW 520i.

Differentiating the i5 Limited Edition from the regular i5 eDrive40 M Sport it is based on are the additional cosmetic tweaks courtesy of the BMW M Performance Parts. This package adds some stylish bits and pieces to the car, including the M Performance carbon fibre splitter, M Carbon Fibre mirror caps, M Performance side skirts, M Performance rear diffuser, and the M Performance carbon fibre rear lip spoiler.
Also included with this parts package are the 21-inch M Performance light alloy wheels with Style 943 M design, finished in Frozen Midnight Grey.

On the powertrain front, the i5 Limited Edition is motivated by the same single, rear-mounted (RWD) electric motor setup used on the regular i5 eDrive40. Rated at 335 HP and 430 NM, this motor setup allows the i5 Limited Edition a quick century sprint time of six seconds flat, en route to its 193 KM/H V-Max.
Meanwhile, juice is provided by a sizable 83.9-kWh battery pack that grants this special i5 a decent EV range of 582 KM. Said battery can be charged via an 11 kW AC or a rapid 205 kW DCFC, with the latter allowing a 10-80% charge in just 34 minutes.

As for the new 520i CKD, this new saloon model stands as the sole ICE-powered variant of the G60-gen 5 Series model currently on sale in Malaysia. Unveiled at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 (MAS 2024) last month, the 520i is powered by the familiar B48 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbocharged petrol mill that has been assisted with a 48-volt mild hybrid (MHEV) system to now output 208 HP and 330 NM. Said MHEV mill is hooked to an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to its rear wheels (RWD) for a decent century sprint time of 7.5 seconds, en route to its 230 KM/H V-Max.

Exclusively available at Auto Bavaria, the all-new BMW i5 Limited Edition is retailed at RM449,800, with said price inclusive of the BMW M Performance Parts worth more than RM100,000. Those who are keen to own this special EV saloon better act fast, as only 20 units will be allocated by Auto Bavaria.
Those who are interested in sizing up these two new G60 5 Series models can visit any of the Auto Bavaria showrooms nationwide. For more information about the new 5 Series and other BMW or MINI products, you can visit Auto Bavaria’s official website or contact them directly at 1300-13-3338.
