Updated BYD Seal Coming Soon With e-Platform 3.0 EVO 800V Architecture, Intelligent Driving

The BYD Seal will be renamed to Seal 07, with an updated version reported set to debut in China this Aug. This was confirmed by BYD's GM, Zhang Zhuo, as reported by CarNewsChina.
The Seal 07 will be built on BYD’s e-platform 3.0 EVO and feature an 800-volt architecture, enhancing both motor speed and charging efficiency. It will retain its sleek exterior design with a slew of aesthetic enhancements.

The car will continue to feature the familiar e-shaped front headlights, sharp cooling vents, and striking through-type taillights accented with chrome. Its dimensions will remain unchanged at 4,800 MM in length with a 2,920 MM wheelbase, 1,875 MM in width, and 1,460 MM in height.
Noteworthy updates in the Seal 07 include a new rear badge, redesigned wheels, and a roof-mounted lidar for advanced intelligent driving capabilities. Models equipped with intelligent driving features will also have additional cameras. Standard models will offer optional body radars, skylights, silver side window trim, and new wheel options.

The interior of the Seal 07 will see significant changes. The dashboard, centre console, and air vents will be revamped. The car will be fitted with a sportier steering wheel, a fully digital instrument panel, a wireless charging pad, hidden air vents, and an integrated centre console armrest.
However, the Seal 07 will retain the most frequently used physical buttons in the centre control area and door panels. Additionally, the car will now offer a panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade.

As for performance, the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) version will be offered in two variants offering maximum power outputs of 228 HP and 308 HP, achieving top speeds of 220 KM/H and 240 KM/H, respectively. These versions will be paired with 61.44 kWh and 80.64 kWh Blade batteries, providing claimed CLTC ranges of 510 KM and 650 KM.

Meanwhile, the all-wheel-drive (AWD) version will maintain the same 530 HP output as the current version, paired with an 80.64 kWh Blade battery, delivering a CLTC range of 600 KM. These enhancements aim to provide a more reliable and efficient driving experience.
In Malaysia, currently only two variants are offered: the RWD Premium at RM179,800 and the Performance AWD at RM199,800. With this update, we can expect the new model to be introduced there late this year or early next year. We just have to wait and see.
