Cops Issued 40 Summonses For Car Drivers, Big Bike Riders testing 'Ulu Yam Circuit'
The Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPT) of the Hulu Selangor police headquarters conducted Ops Samseng Jalanan yesterday, resulting in the detention of several high-powered motorcycle riders and drivers of luxury cars who overspeed on the Jalan Ulu Yam Bharu-Sungai Tua route in Batang Kali.
The route is used by some owners of luxury cars and powerful motorcycles to test the performance of their vehicles, but their actions have backfired as they were arrested during yesterday's operations, which took place from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and led to the issuance of 40 summonses for various offenses.
Superintendent Ahmad Faizal Tahrim, the head of district police, stated that the operation's goal was to reduce and eliminate violations of traffic laws in the area.
"Among the offences committed were overtaking on double lines, exceeding speed limits, driving without a licence, and using mobile phones while driving.
We frequently witness owners of large motorcycles and supercars racing on public roads. These people, who frequently travel in large groups, drive at high speeds on public roads that frequently lead to serious accidents. The Ulu Yam route and the nearby road from Batang Kali to Genting Highlands are definitely well-liked by enthusiasts seeking an exhilarating ride because of their sweeping corners and exhilarating elevation changes.

But it's also incredibly dangerous. The roads consist largely of narrow two-lane tarmac with lots of blind turns that are frequently poorly surfaced, which could cause cars turning sharply to veer off course and into oncoming traffic.
When driving on a public road, it's extremely important to drive sensibly and responsibly by following all traffic laws, as safety comes first at all times. Don't let other drivers pressure you to drive faster than you should, and always drive within your own and your car's capabilities.
