Launched: GWM Haval H6 HEV – Single CKD Variant, RM139,800

The all-new GWM Haval H6 HEV has finally made its debut today, featuring a single CKD variant priced at RM139,800.
It’s been over a year since GWM Malaysia first showed this model at last year’s Malaysia Auto Show (MAS 2023), and the long-awaited GWM Haval H6 HEV has finally made its local debut today. Arriving in a sole, locally-assembled (CKD) variant, this hybrid-powered C-SUV is priced at RM139,800.

The sole CKD variant employs a series-parallel hybrid (HEV) powertrain setup that comprises a 150 PS and 230 NM-rated 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbocharged petrol mill and a single electric motor that is juiced by a small 1.6-kWh hybrid battery pack. Combined, this powertrain setup delivers a total system output of 243 PS and 530 NM, making it the peppiest C-segment SUV in our market.
Drive is sent to the front wheels (FWD) via a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) for a decent 0-100 KM/H time of 7.7 seconds, en route to its limited 175 KM/H V-Max. Despite harbouring such a power, GWM claims the Haval H6 HEV only sips 5.8 litres of fuel per 100 KM, making it one of the most fuel-efficient models in its segment.

Visually, the Haval H6 HEV poses a pretty typical SUV bodystyle, featuring some typical design elements and cues. This includes the slotted front grille flanked by a pair of LED headlights, dark-hued plastic underbody claddings, some silver and gloss black-hued trims, 19-inch gloss black alloy wheels, and more.
Elsewhere, a total of five exterior colourways are offered to the H6 HEV, namely Energy Green, Ayers Silver, Crayon Grey, Sun Black, and Hamilton White.

In terms of dimensions, the H6 HEV slots perfectly in the burgeoning C-segment SUV space, measuring 4,683 MM long, 1,886 MM wide, 1,730 MM tall, and a wheelbase of 2,738 MM. Its sizable facade allows the H6 HEV to harness a sizable 560-litre boot space, which can be expanded to 1,485 litres once the rear 60:40 split-folding seats are folded down.

More importantly, the H6 HEV also gets a pretty spacious cabin space with a 5-seat layout out of its large facade. Present here are several tech and comfort amenities such as a 12.3-inch central infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a smaller 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster complemented with a head-up display (HUD), 8-way power-adjustable front seats with ventilated function, a panoramic sunroof, an 8-speaker audio system, a wireless charging pad, and many more.
Safety features are also not too shabby in this family-friendly hybrid SUV, as it is primed with Level 2 semi-autonomous driving thanks to an array of ADAS functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), and Lane Change Assist (LCA) with Blind Spot Detection (BSD), to name a few. Also present here are the 360-degree camera view system, six airbags, Auto Reversing Assistance (ARA), and more.

Locally-assembled at EP Manufacturing Berhad’s (EPMB) plant in Pegoh, Melaka, the all-new GWM Haval H6 HEV CKD is tagged at RM139,800 on-the-road. Included with said price is a standard 7-year or 200,000 KM vehicle warranty, an 8-year or 1 million KM warranty for its hybrid system, as well as a separate 10-year or 1 million KM engine warranty—the latter two are exclusive for first-hand owners and private registration only.
On top of those warranties, GWM Malaysia is also giving away several special promotions for those who book the H6 HEV, including:
- Early-bird Offer: Rebates worth up to RM3,000 for those who book the car before Oct 20, 2024.
- Launch Offer: A complimentary 5-year free maintenance package (including parts and labour) for those who registered their car before the end of the year.
- GWM Owners Loyalty Offer: Additional RM3,000 rebate for existing GWM vehicle owners.
