The “KING” Gets Its Own Race Series In MSF - Myvi Cup

This will surely be a massive ego-booster for Perodua Myvi owners. Malaysia's beloved "king of the road" now has its own race series with the introduction of the Myvi Cup in the Malaysia Speed Festival (MSF) grassroots racing championship.
The Perodua Myvi, arguably Malaysia’s best-selling car, is popular for its small size, affordable pricing, and low ownership costs. The Myvi Cup was introduced following the success of the Saga Cup, which has been running in MSF for nearly a decade.

Starting from Round 6 of the MSF Superturismo series, scheduled for Nov 10 at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit (SIC), the Myvi Cup will officially be part of the event. The race is open to all Perodua Myvi models, regardless of model generation and capacity.
Drivers will compete across two classes – Pro and Casual – based on their grading qualifications as determined by the race organisers.

Much like the Saga Cup, strict regulations will be enforced, ensuring participants maintain the core components of their vehicles. Only select modifications are allowed, mainly for safety enhancements and as a cost-capping measure, from a list provided to all participants.
For example, while competitors can change the disc rotor and brake pads to performance types of the same dimensions, only original front brake callipers are permitted.

To level the playing field further, the stock engine block, original throttle body, and inlet manifold must be retained, though internal modifications are allowed (i.e. camshaft). Additional injectors are not permitted, and the ECU must remain stock, although a reflash or piggyback ECU is allowed.
Participants must also use the original Myvi gearbox, but are permitted to modify the gear ratios. However, limited-slip differential (LSD), dog engagement gearbox, and sequential gearboxes are banned.

According to MSF Superturismo Principal Adian Yein Khalid, “MSF has always aimed to make competition more accessible and affordable to the masses. That’s why the Saga Cup attracted more than 75 cars and almost 200 drivers every round.”
Given the Myvi's status as Malaysia’s most popular car and the success of the Saga Cup, great things are expected from the Myvi Cup when the starting lights go green.
