Xiaomi Unveils Seamless Connectivity and Cutting-Edge Chassis Tech
Xiaomi founder Lei Jun recently unveiled the brand's ambitious vision for intelligent mobility focusing on Xiaomi Full Active Suspension, Xiaomi Hyper Quad-Motor System, Xiaomi 48V Brake-by-Wire System and Xiaomi 48V Steer-by-Wire System.
According to Lei Jun further, the focus will be on seamless integration within Xiaomi’s “Human to Car to Home” ecosystem, supporting a digitalised foundation for future mobility that not only enhances driving comfort and handling but also pushes Xiaomi EV’s capabilities towards fully autonomous driving.
Xiaomi Full Active Suspension
Xiaomi’s Full Active Suspension boasts a 4.6 kW motor at each wheel, paired with dual-valve Continuous Damping Control (CDC). This innovative system departs from conventional air/spring and CDC combinations, delivering an exceptionally smooth ride by virtually eliminating bumps, body roll, and pitch.
Integrated within Xiaomi’s connected ecosystem, the suspension uses road-preview technology and cloud data to actively adjust to road conditions, ensuring optimal ride quality under various driving scenarios.
Xiaomi Hyper Quad-Motor System
The Hyper Quad-Motor System consists of newly developed motors at the front and V8-level rear motors, combining to generate an impressive 2,026 HP.
Designed for compactness and agility, this powerful four-motor setup drives Xiaomi’s electric performance to new heights, enabling remarkable control and manoeuvrability on the road.
48V Brake-by-Wire System
Xiaomi Auto has set a global benchmark with its industry-first 48V full-dry brake-by-wire system, which upgrades traditional 12V configurations to a more efficient 48V, reducing power loss by 75% and delivering quicker, more responsive braking.
The system features “full-dry” electric callipers, where motor-driven pistons electronically clamp the brake disc for high-precision control, and introduces a dual-piston electronic brake calliper for enhanced stopping power.
48V Steer-by-Wire System
With Xiaomi’s 48V Steer-by-Wire system, steering control is fully digital, decoupling the steering wheel from the wheels. This setup enables enhanced steering accuracy and flexibility, laying the groundwork for advanced autonomous driving capabilities and providing a more streamlined, responsive driving experience.
Lei Jun, also stated that these forward-thinking technologies illustrate Xiaomi’s commitment to intelligent chassis design, creating a future where cars not only operate as smart vehicles but also as an integral part of a connected lifestyle within Xiaomi’s broader ecosystem.
