Ford Escort “Continumod” Mk1 RS By Boreham Motorworks

Boreham Motorworks (BM) celebrates 50 years of RS performance heritage with the return of the Ford Escort Mk1 RS - limited to just 150 units worldwide available in either RHD or LHD configuration.

This continuation model will be built from the ground up as an official Ford licensed product, featuring meticulously re-engineered Mk1 chassis made using advanced CAD technology, original blueprints, and cutting-edge materials. Each vehicle will carry a continuation chassis number from when production ended, preserving the legacy of the iconic Mk1.

BM avoids the restomod / donor car rebuild route to ensure a period-correct yet modernized vehicle with enhanced torsional rigidity and structural improvements. The end result would weigh just 800KG thanks to lightweight components such as carbon fiber panels and magnesium wheels.
This not only translates to exceptional performance but maintaining an optimised weight distribution of 55:45.

Buyers can opt between two engine options: a 1,845cc fuel-injected Twin Cam producing 182 HP, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, or a motorsport-derived 2.1-litre engine delivering 296 HP and capable of 10,000 RPM, paired with a 5-speed dogleg gearbox and a titanium exhaust.
Both options promise exhilarating performance while staying true to the RS legacy.

The BM Mk1 RS features a MacPherson strut front suspension, a lightweight aluminum and titanium rear axle, an advanced limited-slip ATB differential and modern coil-over dampers. Staying true to its analogue roots, the car will not be equipped with power steering, ABS or traction control - offering an unfiltered connection between driver and road.

The BM Mk1 RS’s design honors the simplicity of the original Mk1 but with updates such as billet aluminum components, modern lighting and brakes plus a set of 15-inch wheels that evoke the original styling.
The interior balances vintage charm with modern functionality such as air conditioning, Alcantara and leather trim, and an optional roll cage.
Priced from £295,000 (RM1.7 Million), the BM Mk1 RS will debut in Q2 2025, with production starting in Q3. Each car will also come with a 2-year/32,000 KM warranty.
