New Singer DLS-Turbo Is A Stunning Porsche 964-based Restomod

This is the new Dynamics & Lightweighting Study - Turbo (DLS-T) by Singer Vehicle Design.
What you see here is the latest vision from Singer Vehicle Designs – the company famed for building restomods based on vintage modern classic and air-cooled Porsche 911. It’s christened as the Dynamics & Lightweighting Study – Turbo (DLS-T) and, we’re certain you’ll agree with us that it looks stunning.
Essentially, this where Singer’s past DLS and Turbo concepts have merged, and it’s presented with styling largely inspired by the infamous Porsche 934/5 race cars that dominated Group 4 racing in the late 1970s. This is evident is this concept’s rear quarter.
The configuration shown in this orange-hued concept is what Singer actually refers to as the track-focused version. Clearly, said hue draws inspiration from the 935 portion of the 934/5.

Pictured here is the DLS-T in track-focused configuration featuring a very aggressive front splitter and massive adjustable rear spoiler.
Like most of its exterior panels, the ultra-wide rear bodywork is crafted out of carbon fibre houses big rear intakes, NACA ducts, as well as a massive adjustable rear spoiler for serious track use. There’s also an equally massive splitter that boosts aero performance for track use.
Too extreme? Fret not as Singer also prepared a road-focused configuration through another render featuring a more restraint yet sublime light gold (Moet Blanc) paintjob. This one sports a more modest ducktail rear spoiler instead, matched with a less aggressive front splitter.

Can’t decide on either? Singer says customers can commission one to feature both configurations, with the track-focused bits easily swapped in and out. Essentially, this method lets you have the ducktail-ed car to drive daily or to the track with, whilst the big-winged setup can be bolted in for weekend trackdays.
To properly capture the 1970s racer vibe that inspired it, Singer paid close attention to the finer details too. It sees bright trimmings common of Porsche 911s in said era swapped out for black-finished ones. There’s also a short 930-style hood is also a characteristic that the company gave great care to build.

Singer adds that customers can commission one to accommodate both configurations with easily
inter-changeable parts.
Adapting these 70s design elements into the 1990s era 964 body whilst also sporting the radical touches of 934/5 in not one but two interchangeable configurations proved to be biggest challenge faced by builders at Singer Vehicle Design.

On board, it's the usual Singer affair featuring a cabin that's been firstly stripped to bare metal before being 'reimagined' with new furnishings built using modern, high-end materials.
No matter which configuration of the DLS-T customers opt for, what remains a constant is the manic 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat or ‘boxer’ 6-cyl mill nestled at the rear end featuring air-to-water intercooling. This, according to Singer, delivers over 700 HP whilst also spinning well past the 9,000 RPM mark.
Drive goes to the rear wheels exclusively through a 6-speed manual transmission. These get bolstered by the chassis’ adoption of upgraded suspension with bespoke dampers, ceramic brakes, as well as lightweight staggered centre-locking 19- and 20-inch wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres.

No images of the powertrain were released, but the DLS-T is set to harness a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat ('boxer') 6-cyl with air-to-water intercooling that makes over 700 HP and revs well past 9,000 RPM.
“The DLS Turbo represents a further step in carefully expanding our capability, in order to respond to the requirements of our clients,” said Singer about how this latest concept came about. Sources online further report that just 99 examples of the DLS Turbo will be built, but no prices were disclosed just yet.
As a reference, Singer Vehicle Design set a staggering US$2 million (approx. RM9.34 million) starting price tag for its original DLS. Expect the DLS-T to commands a much princelier figure indeed. Check out more images of the Singer DLT-T in the gallery prepared below.
