Tesla Model Y Juniper To Enter Production In Shanghai This January

The eagerly awaited updated Model Y, code-named "Juniper," is about to make its debut in the booming Chinese auto industry. Production is scheduled to begin soon, according to CarNewsChina, and the five-seat version is anticipated to arrive on the Gigafactory Shanghai assembly line in January 2025.
Significant aesthetic modifications akin to those found in the Model 3 "Highland" may be included in this new Model Y. Although the design improvements' exact details are still unknown, they are expected to improve outward and interior dynamics and establish a new benchmark in the competitive EV market.

The Model Y's interior is anticipated to be even more basic, doing away with the gear shifter, wiper, and turn signal stalks. Like the Model 3 facelift, it will have a reworked steering wheel, a smaller bezel infotainment display, more comfortable seats, multi-color ambient lighting, and an extra touchscreen for back passengers to adjust climate settings.
More significantly, it has been stated that the EV would have better NVH and higher-quality materials inside the cabin thanks to chassis and suspension modifications. Upgrades to the onboard technologies will probably join these as well.

While the production timeline is yet unknown, the source indicates that a six-seat version of the Model Y Juniper is also being considered. This version is anticipated to begin production by the second half of 2025. According to reports, Tesla is preparing for a higher manufacturing volume in order to satisfy China's growing demand for the Model Y.
