New Year 2025: Rapid KL Extends Operations Till 3 AM
Rapid KL will be extending its public transportation operational hours this New Year’s Eve, offering a hassle-free way to celebrate and travel into 2025 without having to worry about traffic.
Prasarana has announced that trains will operate until 3 am, while select bus routes will run until 3:30 am on that day. The extended schedule will involve 18 rail stations, four key bus hubs, and 20 crucial bus and feeder routes.
To make commuting even easier, train frequencies across all lines will increase starting 7:30 pm on Dec 31.
Highlighted rail lines will include Kelana Jaya, Ampang/Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur Monorail, Kajang, Putrajaya, and Sunway BRT. Meanwhile stations providing extended operational hours will include KLCC, Masjid Jamek, Pasar Seni, Bukit Bintang and Sunway Lagoon.
As for the bus network's, links between Wangsa Maju and Lebuh Ampang, Kajang and Lebuh Pudu Hub, Puchong Utama and Pasar Seni Hub, and Taman Sri Muda and Pasar Seni Hub are among the routes that will provide longer operation hours.
Additionally, last mile service provider, Demand Responsive Transit (DRT) will also provide its services at Putrajaya, Kwasa Damansara, Taman Jasa Utama and Cyberjaya.
To ensure a seamless journey, Prasarana advises commuters to use Touch ‘n Go cards and maintain sufficient balance. It was also made aware that over 2,700 front-line staff, including auxiliary police, will be on duty on that day.
