WCE Highway – Smoother Drive This Aidiladha With Ample Refuelling Exits
This upcoming Aidiladha holiday, folks from Klang Valley and all over are about to start their usual long holiday mass exodus, guaranteeing the usual traffic congestion, especially on the PLUS network of highways.
Luckily for those heading north, there is an alternative: the 320KM long WCE Highway network. However, many may be wondering how to navigate the WCE Highway, especially since there are no rest areas with refuelling options yet.
While you can enjoy a potentially smoother drive compared to PLUS, you will need to make an exit or two to refuel until the WCE Highway’s rest areas are complete with refuelling stations. Here are some of the exits you can take for a quick fuel up:
- Exit Lekir: Petronas Batu 10
- Exit Sitiawan: Shell & Caltex
- Exit Sitiawan (U): Shell
- Exit Changkat Cermin: Petronas, Petron & Shell
- Exit Beruas: Five & Shell
- Exit Trong: Shell
- Exit Changkat Jering: Petron, Shell & Caltex (near Interchange)
Additionally, there are several petrol stations along the Federal Road from Lekir to Teluk Intan and from Sabak Bernam to Tg. Karang. With all these options, you can easily refuel and be on your way back to the WCE.
To ensure a smooth journey, please ensure your Touch ‘n Go card and app have sufficient balance. Remember, although the WCE Highway route is scenic, do not stop on the roadsides for everyone's safety.
On another note, the Public Works Department (JKR) recently announced that the traffic light at the intersection between FT54 - LATAR - WCE, which had been closed due to damaged cables, is being repaired and is expected to be operational again this coming September.
