Launched: GWM TANK 300 – RM250,000, Lifetime Powertrain Warranty For 300 Buyers
The highly anticipated GWM TANK 300 luxury 4x4 SUV has officially launched with a confirmed price tag of RM250,000.
Earlier today, GWM Malaysia officially announced the price for its highly anticipated new offering, the GWM TANK 300. The 4x4 luxury SUV is now on sale in Malaysia with an official price tag of RM250,000 – matching its estimate initially announced at the Malaysia Auto Show 2024.
The firm first previewed the model back in March earlier this year alongside its ORA 06 all-electric (EV) fastback saloon. Besides price, GWM Malaysia also announced a series of special perks and benefits for early bird buyers, which includes an exclusive contest.
Exclusively offered to the first 300 customers is a lifetime powertrain (engine and transmission) warranty, though this is valid for first registered owners only. Other key early bird perks include 5-year free service, as well as a exclusive GWM x Thule rewards.
Included in the price mentioned is a standard 6-year, unlimited mileage warranty coverage by GWM Malaysia. However, for the first 300 buyers, the SUV comes with a lifetime powertrain (engine and transmission) warranty, though this is limited to the first registered owner only.
Also limited to the first 300 buyers is an exclusive 5-year or 100,000 KM free service maintenance package, and it covers both labour and parts. The intervals for which spans every 10,000 KM or every 6 months (whichever comes first).
There's also a special content for GWM TANK 300 owners who register their SUVs by Aug 12, 2024. A lucky draw will be held for which, and 10 winners will earn an adventure trip to China with the GWM TANK 300.
Besides comprehensive after-sales, GWM Malaysia also collaborated with Swedish premium adventure lifestyle brand Thule for an exclusive early bird (first 300 buyers) reward package. It includes both a Thule Paramount Backpack worth RM999 and a RM8,000 Thule Voucher.
In conjunction with its official launch, GWM Malaysia will also conduct a special contest exclusively opened to GWM TANK 300 customers who register their SUVs by Aug 12, 2024. 10 winners will be selected through a lucky draw to win an adventure trip to China with the GWM TANK 300.
“We strive to ensure every journey is enjoyed to the fullest, with complete peace of mind,” said Mike Cui An Qi, managing director of GWM Malaysia, regarding these exclusive early bird perks and rewards offered by the firm.
Besides a punchy 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo petrol heart, the GWM TANK 300 is brimmed with an 8-speed automatic box plus a full-blown, part-time 4x4 driveline featuring a front and rear diff. The latter enables up to 9 selectable driving, diff-lock and terrain modes.
As a refresher, the GWM TANK 300 is positioned as a mid-sized luxury 4x4 SUV targeted towards buyers with adventurous lifestyles. Powering this Chinese 4x4 SUV is a 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo petrol mill outputting 217 HP (220 PS) and 380 NM.
Sail mill is paired with a slick 8-speed automatic transmission plus a full-blown part-time 4x4 driveline primed with both a front and rear differential. The latter offers no less than 9 selectable drive modes across 2H, 4H and 2L diff-lock modes, allowing it to tackle various terrain types.
Other key off-roading features include a 360-degree surround-view camera with a see-through chassis view mode, Tank Turn Assist, Crawl Control (CCO), hill-descent control, and more.
Bolstering the TANK 300’s off-roading credentials further too are notable features such Tank Turn Assist, Crawl Control (CCO), as well as a 360-degree surround-view camera suite with see-through chassis display function.
The TANK 300’s off-roading credentials also stem from its core basics that sees it underpin a robust ladder frame chassis and its dimensions. The latter sees the TANK 300 boast a maximum ground clearance of 224 MM, which in turn grants water-wading ability of up to a depth of 700 MM too.
On board, the TANK 300's cabin is both plush and very high tech. Key features include dual 12.3-inch full-colour displays, heated and ventilated front seats with power adjustment, 64-colour ambient lighting, 9-speaker Infinity premium audio suite, and more.
As for aesthetics, the TANK 300 merges both a rugged, modern-retro exterior with a contemporary and plush interior. Highlights of the latter include heated and ventilated front seats with power-adjustment, 64-colour ambient lighting suite, and dual 12.3-inch full-colour digital displays.
Other key luxuries primed include a 9-speaker Infinity audio suite, keyless entry and ignition, plush faux leather upholstery, wireless charging pad, both 12-volt and USB ports, rear air-cond vents, a sunroof, as well as an electronic parking brake (EPB) module, amongst many.
Critically, the GWM TANK 300 also boasts Level 2 ADAS features to make it safe on-road as well.
Not only capable off-road, the GWM TANK 300 is also an equally safe SUV on-road as it boasts Level 2 Active Driver Assistance (ADAS) features. Highlights include Adaptive and Intelligent and Cruise Control (ACC with ICA), Lane Central Keeping (LCK), Traffic jam Assist (TJA), and more.
All of which comes on top of other notable standard safety features such as six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), all-round disc brakes with ABS, traction (TCS) and stability control (ESP), ISOFIX anchors, as well as hill-start assist (HAC) and hill-descent control (HDC).
As for its exterior, the GWM TANK 300 boasts a rugged, modern-retro look.
So, what do you folks reckon then? Is this Chinese premium lifestyle 4x4 calling out the inner adventurer in you yet? Or would you rather wait for the 5-Door iteration of the Suzuki Jimny, which is set for launch soon, instead? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
