Launched: ‘Enhanced’ BYD Atto 3 Face-lift – Larger Battery, More Kit, Same Price – RM149,800

Also launched today was a re-specced and upgraded iteration of what BYD Malaysia dubs as the 'Enhanced' BYD Atto 3 EV crossover.
Besides expanding the BYD Seal EV saloon range, Sime Darby Motors’ BYD Malaysia arm also seized the opportunity today to announce the availability of a new and re-specced iteration of its best-selling BYD Atto 3 EV crossover.
Effectively, this is the face-lifted 2024 model year version of BYD’s global best seller we detailed prior. However, unlike the version launched locally earlier this year based on the Standard Range guise, this new version launched today underpins the Extended Range variant instead.

Unlike the previous version launched earlier this year, this re-specced version is based on the Extended Range guise. It benefits with a larger battery and improved kit-count.
Aptly, this sees the new ‘Enhanced’ BYD Atto 3 now packing a larger 60.48 kWh capacity ‘Blade’ LFP-type battery pack – up from the 49.92 kWh unit offered prior. The increased capacity also comes with faster DC charging speed of up to 88 kW (versus 70 kW in the Standard Range).
The latter fast charging method delivers 0-80% re-charges in 45 minutes, according to BYD. With a full charge, said battery promises up to 480 KM of range based on the NEDC cycle (or 420 KM based on WLTP scale).
What continues unchanged here are the Atto 3’s 7 kW (6.6 kW) AC charging input limit, along with its front-mounted e-motor and front-wheel-drive (FWD) layout. The former is rated at 201 HP and 310 NM, altogether enabling 0-100 KM/H sprints in 7.3 seconds.

Newly added and upgraded kit include a built-in PM2.5 filter, multi-colour ambient lighting suite, 8-speaker audio, as well as one-touch opening and closing power tailgate.

A key distinguishing change to the exterior is the switch to larger 18-inch wheels - the previous version offered smaller 17-inch units instead.
Up-sized battery and range aside, the re-specced Atto 3 for Malaysia also gains slightly more kit. Highlights include a one-touch opening and closing power tailgate, an 8-speaker audio suite (up from a 6-speaker setup prior), upgraded door handle ambient lighting with multi-colour gradient and music rhythm function, as well as a built-in PM2.5 air filter function added.
As for the exterior, much of the refreshed styling touches we detailed prior remains. The only change to note here are the new 18-inch wheels this guise of the Atto 3 rolls on, which is an up-size from the 17-inch units seen in the initial version mentioned.

What hasn't changed here too is price, and this up-specced version of the 'Enhanced' BYD Atto 3 continues to command just RM149,800 sans insurance.
Apart from what we just detailed, there are no other changes to note, and the same applies to its price tag. Like the face-lifted Standard Range-based version launched prior, this new Extended Range-based replacement continues to command a starting price of RM149,800.
Unchanged too is the after-sales package included in said price, which consists of a 6-year or 150,000 KM base vehicle warranty, along with both an 8-year or 160,000 KM EV battery warranty and an 8-year or 150,000 KM EV component warranty.
Typical of BYD Malaysia, there’s also a special early bird offer available for the first 300 customers purchasing the re-specced Atto 3 detailed. These early birds benefit with a complimentary home wallbox charger unit, 3-year service package and 4-year complimentary road tax.
