ChargEV Bets Big On 16 Sierra: 8 x 120kW Kempower Units with BESS

ChargEV launched its unique 400 kW BESS-enabled DC Fast Charging (DCFC) hub at Sierra Fresco, Bandar 16 Sierra. Located near MEX, SKVE, and the LDP highways, it offers a convenient solution for EV owners.
This state-of-the-art facility features Malaysia's first-ever deployment of eight Kempower dynamic satellite charging units. Each unit is capable of delivering a maximum output of 120 kW and is connected to eight Pixii 50 kW (400 kW total) PowerShaper battery energy storage units.

These Kempower units employ dynamic charging technology, which adjusts the charging rate based on vehicles state of charge (SOC) and the number of vehicles plugged in simultaneously.
To maximise the efficiency of your charging session, it is crucial to understand your EV’s charging rate and curve and keep every charging session to a maximum of 80% SOC which saves time but also ensures the availability of chargers for other users.

The Sierra Fresco charging hub is located just minutes away from another ChargEV facility at the Amigo Clubhouse. This secondary location offers a two-nozzle 60 kW Autel DCFC and an 11 kW AC charger, providing additional options for EV owners in the area.
From the looks of it the folks at ChargEV is betting heavily on the Bandar 16 Sierra township also boasts a range of amenities, including pickleball courts, badminton facilities, a glamping site, and a dog-friendly park, making it an ideal spot for leisure activities with the family while charging.
Amigo Clubhouse 60kW DC & 11kW AC arrangement
Charging at Sierra Fresco will cost RM1.60/kWh while Amigo Clubhouse commands arate of RM1.40/kWh. Additionally, at present, only the Amigo Clubhouse facility is available on ChargEV’s roaming partners app - Gentari and JomCharge.
