Jetour Malaysia Announces Expansion Plans & Dashing CKD SUV Q1 Launch

Get ready folks as Jetour (Jetour Malaysia) is set to establish a foothold in our market as early Q1 with at least 10 brand outlets.
Seasoned readers and followers of Carz.com.my will remember the new Jetour brand that made its local market debut last year during the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 (MAS 2024). Initially, Jetour Malaysia had ambitiously targeted to set-up shop by Quarter 4 (Q4) last year, however this didn’t materialise.
Nevertheless, the brand, which is part of the Chery Group’s portfolio but operated separately from both Chery Auto China and Malaysia, remains committed to enter our market. Earlier today, the firm held a press briefing detailing its initial expansion and launch plans, and it appears promising.

Jetour International Vice President Kevin Xu during the press briefing he conducted earlier today. During which, the exec laid out Jetour Malaysia's plans to establish 20 outlets nationwide and launch the Dashing SUV first.
Firstly, Jetour Malaysia aims to establish its local network by opening 20 outlets nationwide. At least 10, comprised of both 3S and 4S centres, will open within the first quarter (Q1) of this year in key locations such as Selangor, Penang, Ipoh, Seremban, Melaka, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak.
“2025 is a pivotal year for Jetour Malaysia as we embark on this exciting journey in Malaysia,” expressed Kevin Xu, Jetour International Vice President, who conducted today’s briefing. He added that Jetour has already secured its spare parts supply for Malaysia, reinforcing its readiness.

Also shown to press today were two pre-production units of the Jetour Dashing C-segment SUV that's poised to launch sometime in Q1 this year - a March launch was hinted by insiders.
This initial network of 10 outlets mentioned will be critical as Xu also confirm that the brand’s first offering for the local market, the Jetour Dashing SUV, will be launched sometime in Q1 too. Specifically, a March launch window was hinted, and the model will be locally assembled (CKD).
As a refresher, the Dashing is a C-segment SUV offering, boasting comparable footprint as most segment rivals here – it sits 4,590 MM long with a 2,750 MM wheelbase, 1,900 MM wide, and 1,685 MM tall.

Some key highlights of the Dashing, however do note that a pre-production unit is pictured. Things could change slightly in the final version set for launch later this year.
Under the hood, the Jetour Dashing for Malaysia is set to pack a 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbo petrol heart paired with a 6-speed DCT automatic box. The former is rated at 156 HP and 230 NM, and the latter manages said outputs to the front wheels.
On board, key equipment present include dual 10.25-inch digital displays screens, wireless charging pad, power-adjustable driver’s seat, and more. Having taken a closer look at the pre-production unit shown to us earlier today, expect slight changes in the final specs at launch.

Further enquiries we performed indicate that the Dashing could be the first of several new metal to come from Jetour Malaysia. In fact, both fully- (EV) and partially-electrified (PHEV) offerings are in the pipelines too.
Besides this, Carz.com.my also managed to enquire further amongst the Jetour Malaysia management personnel present. It is understood that besides combustion (ICE) models like the Dashing mentioned and detailed, the firm is set to introduce fully- and partially-electrified offerings locally too.
Firstly, our source indicated that a fully-electric (EV) model offering is in the pipelines, and this is likely set for launch by middle of this year. A plug-in hybrid (PHEV) offering – likely the T2 model – is set to follow up from which, but this will only arrive next year (2026) adds our source.
Would you be keen with another Sino-badged left-field alternative?
Apart from which, Jetour Malaysia didn’t disclose much. We will be keeping an eye on this brand’s establishment, development and, subsequently, its market performance, in the coming months, and we’ll bring you more updates once details are made available.
In the meantime, what do you folks reckon? Keen on yet another left-field Sino-badged alternative against the usual Japanese, Korean and Sino-Malaysian suspects? What sort of chances of success would you give this marque in our market? Share your take in the comments below then…
