New Jetour T1 Earns 5-Star ASEAN NCAP Crash-test Rating
Upcoming Jetour T1 compact crossover SUV was subjected to crash tests by the ASEAN NCAP, scoring a full 5-star rating.

It appears that the Jetour T1, an upcoming compact crossover SUV offering, has been awarded with a full 5-star rating from the ASEAN NCAP organisation. Said results follows up from a similar achievement charted recently by its stablemate the Jetour T2.
Like the T2, the T1 was tested under the outgoing 2021-2025 ASEAN NCAP standards. Superseding said standards now are the new 2026-2030 protocol that will succeed this protocol starting this year.
Overseas market version of the Jetour T1 pictured. it's essentially a smaller and less rugged version of the Jetour T2.

Said tests were performed by the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute (CAERI), whilst the variant tested was brimmed with a 2.0 litre 4-cyl mill outputting 254 PS and 390 Nm – a 1.5 litre unit with 184 PS and 290 Nm is also available in China.
Notably, like the ASEAN NCAP report for the T2, this smaller and less rugged T1 model sees its report listing Malaysia under “other ASEAN production”. In turn, this likely suggests possible local assembly (CKD) plans in Malaysia for the model too.

For reference, Jetour Malaysia had appointed Berjaya-owned B Assemblies as its contract assemblers when it launched the Dashing C-SUV model in Malaysia last year.
Closer inspection sees the Jetour T1 scoring 30.47 points out of 32.00 points in adult occupant protection (AOP), 18.00 points from 21.00 points for its safety assist assessment, and 13.00 points from 16.00 points in motorcyclist safety.

Across both AOP and COP, as well as safety assist and motorcyclist safety assessment categories, the Jetour T1 scored 5-star ratings for each. Its overall weighted score of 87.67 points effectively brought an overall 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating too.
Critically, advanced safety assistance systems (ADAS) brimmed in the Jetour T1 as tested by ASEAN NCAP include autonomous emergency braking (AEB), though lane departure warning (LDW), forward collision warning (FCW) and lane keep assist (LKA) are optional.

Kitted as standard across all variants though are things like ABS, ESC, seat belt reminders, as well as rear occupant detection.
No clear indication as to when exactly the T1 model detailed will be launched in Malaysia, but we can perhaps expect it sometime this year.
