Lexus RC and RC F Coupe Bowing Out With Final Edition Specials

The Lexus RC and RC F coupe is set to bow out of production in Nov this year. Ahead of which, a "Final Edition" special series for each was announced.
Toyota’s luxury arm Lexus is gearing up to bid farewell to both its RC and RC F coupe models, announcing a limited-run “Final Edition” series last week. Said specials will only see just 200 units up for grabs exclusively for Japanese and North American buyers.
Lexus says both final-run specials feature “mechanical and aesthetic” improvements all around. It also confirmed that the model’s production ends in Nov this year. As to questions about a potential successor, your guess is as good as ours.
With a follow-up model somewhat uncertain, these final-run specials could be worth snapping up. Here’s what Japanese and American prospecting collectors can look forward to.

The RC F Final Edition is set apart by its 19-inch BBS wheels dressed in gloss black, red-painted Brembo calipers, and a distinct carbon fibre aerokit.
Starting with the RC F Final Edition, it rocks 19-inch BBS forged alloy wheels dressed in Metal Star Gloss Black finish, red-painted Brembo brake calipers, blacked-out side mirrors, a carbon fibre aerokit mirroring the 2024 model’s Carbon Package, as well as a newly added ‘Sonic Iridium’ paint, bringing forth a total of seven paint options for American buyers.
As for the Japan market-only RC Final Edition, it rolls on 19-inch Enkei alloy wheels dressed in “sputtering paint”. It also gains red-painted brake calipers plus blacked-painted side mirror caps with smoked inserts that added some distinct contrast. Additionally, the RC Final Edition also sees nine paintjob options readied – two more than the RC F Final Edition.
Moving inside and both specials gain unique “black and Flare Red” cabin trims matched with Final Edition badges. Lexus went the extra mile in adding a special welcome sequence in the digital instrument panel, followed by a combination of and Ultrasuede upholstery with red pip-stitching plus carbon trim inserts.

The RC Final Edition for the Japanese market only stands as the more subtle of the two, but does feature distinct touches to its cabin and rolls on unique 19-inch Enkei wheels too.
Moving under the hood, the RC Final Edition sees its 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo and 3.5-litre V6 turbo petrol mills offered to North American buyers. Japanese buyers, on the other hand, gains the additional third option for a 2.5-litre hybrid petrol powertrain package too.
Aptly, the RC F Final Edition benefits with the peppiest powertrain package of the two with its 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 mill that shells out 466 HP. Lexus adds this has been “refined to deliver a smooth revving feel and exhilarated engine sound.”
Moreover, the RC F Final Edition also sees its driveline beefed up with an improved limited-slip diff. In turn, this promises greater responses under acceleration.

Another unique touch in both is the special start-up animation sequence added into their digital instrument clusters.
Since it debuted a decade ago in 2014, the Lexus RC coupe range has stood as a solid global hit, as evidenced by the 79,000 units shifted thus far worldwide - some of which are also listed for sale locally right here. In contrast, it stands far more niche than its rival the BMW M4 Coupe, which sold just 12,000 units worldwide thus far since debut.
As for price and availability, both the Lexus RC and RC F Final Edition duo are opened for orders in Japan now where they command starting prices of JPY6.66 million (approx. RM190,389) in RC300 Final Edition guise, and at JPY13.6 million (approx. RM392,316) in RC F Final Edition guise.
